On the pitch, Lens appear more cohesive and confident. Their pressing game and fluid attacking transitions have been honed over the past two seasons, and with home advantage at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, they’ll look to exploit Lyon’s defensive frailties. Lyon’s recent 2–1 loss to Bayern Munich in a friendly exposed gaps in their backline, and with key players unsettled or departing, their rhythm may be off. Expect Lens to dominate possession and create high-quality chances through their wide play and set pieces.

Given the current trajectory of both teams, a 2–1 victory for Lens seems a fitting prediction. Lyon may find the net through a moment of individual brilliance—perhaps from Rayan Cherki or a set-piece—but Lens’ structure, momentum, and crowd support should tip the balance.
