Aviator Auto Cashout: What the Actual Math Says
Auto cashout can't beat Aviator's 3% house edge. See the real EV math at 1.2x, 2x and 10x, and what auto cashout genuinely does help with in crash play.

Auto cashout does not improve your odds in Aviator. Every threshold you can set, from 1.1x to 100x, returns the same expected value: about 97 cents per dollar staked. The multiplier you pick changes how your results are spread out, not how much you keep.
The Number Behind Every Threshold
Aviator is a crash game built by Spribe, and its published return-to-player figure is 97%. Most casinos running the game, including ABT90, use that same certified build, so the underlying probability table is identical wherever you play. That 3% house edge is how the crash point is generated. The probability that a round survives to any given multiplier follows a simple rule:
Chance of reaching multiplier x = 0.97 ÷ x
Multiply that chance by the payout and the edge never moves:
| Auto cashout | Chance of winning | Payout on $10 | Expected return |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2x | 80.8% | $12 | $9.70 |
| 1.5x | 64.7% | $15 | $9.70 |
| 2.0x | 48.5% | $20 | $9.70 |
| 5.0x | 19.4% | $50 | $9.70 |
| 10x | 9.7% | $100 | $9.70 |
| 100x | 0.97% | $1,000 | $9.70 |
There is no threshold with an edge hiding in it. A 1.2x setting wins 4 times out of 5 and still loses 30 cents per $10 round on average. A 100x setting wins once in a hundred rounds and loses the same 30 cents. The median crash point is near 1.94x. Half of all rounds end below that.
Why 1.2x Feels Safer but Usually is not
Low thresholds win often, so they feel controlled. The problem is turnover. Your expected loss is 3% of everything you wager, not 3% of your deposit. A 1.2x auto cashout paired with auto bet lets you clear rounds fast, and each round is another slice off the top. Two hundred rounds at $1 is $200 of turnover and around $6 in expected loss. Ten rounds at $20 is the same $200 and the same $6, but takes a fraction of the time.
So the speed a low threshold enables is what costs you. Players who set 1.15x and walk away for 20 minutes of auto bet often lose more than someone taking swings at 10x, purely because they pushed more money through the game.
One the other hand, at 2.0x you lose slightly more than half of all rounds, which means a run of five straight losses happens about 3.6% of the time. At 1.2x, five in a row is around a 1-in-4,000 event. High thresholds bring deep losing streaks that will break a small bankroll before variance has any chance to even out.
What Auto Cashout Really Fixes
Auto cashout has one genuine use, and it has nothing to do with odds. It removes your reaction time and your nerves from the outcome. Manual cashing out at 2x means you need to click inside a window that shrinks as the multiplier climbs. Miss it by a beat and a winning round becomes a total loss. Auto cashout executes at your number every time, so your actual results match the math above instead of falling short of it.
It also stops the single most expensive habit in crash games, which is watching a plane that pass your intended exit and deciding to hold on. That decision has negative expected value every time you make it, and it is the reason many players do worse than the 97% figure suggests they should. Treat auto cashout as a discipline tool. It protects you from yourself. It does not beat the house.
Why Pattern Strategies Don't Work Here
You will see claims about tracking previous rounds, betting after a run of low crashes, or playing at specific hours. These fail for a structural reason. Aviator uses provably fair generation. The crash point for each round comes from a server seed combined with seeds contributed by players in that round, and the hash is published before the round starts. The result is fixed before the plane takes off and is mathematically independent of every round before it. A string of ten 1.0x crashes tells you nothing about the eleventh.
Martingale systems have the same problem. Doubling after each loss at a 2x threshold sounds sound until you hit a seven-loss streak, which occurs once every 130 rounds and requires 128 times your base stake to recover from.
Picking a Threshold You Can Live With
Since expected value is fixed, choose based on variance tolerance and how long you want a session to last:
- 1.5x to 2.0x: The practical middle. Wins land enough to keep a session going, streaks stay survivable.
- Below 1.3x: Only with a hard round limit. Without one, turnover does the damage.
- Above 5x: Treat it as a lottery ticket, and size stakes so a 30-round dry spell does not matter.
Whichever you pick, set a stop-loss and a round cap before you start, because the game gives you no natural stopping point. Our guide on knowing when to walk away in casino games talks about session limits and bankroll rules that apply directly to crash games.
A 97% RTP is decent by casino standards, but it is still a negative expectation game over any long run. Aviator is entertainment with a cost attached. It is not an income strategy. Play with money you can afford to lose, and if it stops feeling like a choice, use the deposit limits and self-exclusion tools your casino provides.
