Wednesday evening, Brama Traoré's men won a very important victory against Equatorial Guinea after a completely crazy end to the match 2-1. Trailing until the 95th minute of play, they were able to equalize and even take the advantage in a few seconds as they headed towards a defeat which would have largely compromised their chances of qualifying. Gabon has revenge to take in this African Cup of Nations to compensate for its disappointment of non-qualification for the World Cup, beaten in November by Nigeria in the play-off semi-final 4-1 after extra time. And yet, against Cameroon on the first day, the Gabonese did not secure the point of the draw by losing by the smallest of margins 1-0. As a reminder, in 2023, Pierre-Aymerick Aubameyang's partners had not even qualified for the CAN and they have not reached the quarter-finals since 2012. Ivory Coast vs Cameroon - Sunday, 28 December 2025

Title holder, and winner on 3 occasions, Ivory Coast put its title on the line by entering the competition perfectly by beating Mozambique by a small goal 1-0.
