Sevilla vs Levante Prediction & Betting Tips (4 January)

Sevilla FC occupies a spot in the soft underbelly of the championship but a series of victories would allow it to enter the forefront of the race for Europe. Bad news for the Andalusians who have won only one of their last five matches in La Liga, against Oviedo at home 4-0 for a harmful record of three defeats, contracted against Espanyol Barcelona 2-1, for the reception of Bétis 0-2 and against Real Madrid just before the Christmas break 2-0. We also note the road trip in the 1/16 final of the Copa del Rey against Alaves 1-0.   For its part, Levante, just back in the 1st division after two successive campaigns at the lower level, finds itself in great difficulty being positioned at the bottom of the 20th seal.

With their 10 points, the Granotes are already 6 points from maintaining and their results are not selling or even influential to believe in maintaining at the end of the season. Before heading to the winter break, Levante missed the boat at home against Real Sociedad 1-1. This draw, however, had the merit of stopping the bleeding of five successive defeats against Celta Vigo 1-2, Atlético Madrid 3-1, Valencia 1-0, Athletic Bilbao 0-2 and against Osasuna 2-0. 

Excluded against Real Madrid, Marcao will not participate in this meeting any more than his coach, Matias Almeyda, also excluded against Madrid. Selected with Nigeria for the CAN, Ejuke and Akor Adams will be withdrawn. Injured before the winter break, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kouassi and Ruben Vargas (3 goals, 4 assists) are doubtful. The Chileans Suazo (defender) and Alexis Sanchez (attacker) will be on deck as will the Tricolores Agoumé and Mendy without forgetting Sow and the top striker Isaac Romero (3 goals in La Liga this season).  Opposite, the excellent Etta Eyong (5 goals) joined Cameroon to compete in the CAN. The latter even scored during J1 against Gabon.

The starting left back Sanchez will not play (suspended) while Roger Brugué and Elgezabal are seriously injured. Goduine Koyalipou could also stay in the infirmary. The probable line-ups for Sevilla - Levante: Seville: Odysseas - Juanlu, Carmona, Gudelj, Salas, Oso (or Suazo) - Agoumé, Mendy, Sow - Romero, Sanchez. Levante: Ryan - Toljan, de la Fuente, Moreno, Pampin - Alvarez, Arriaga, Vencedor, Martinez - Losada, Romero.
