Video games have existed for quite a long time, however, they first hit it big in the mainstream in the mid-80s, when the Nintendo Entertainment System swept the scene. The Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and games of a similar nature rose to prominence, and there wasn’t a kid in the world that hadn’t heard of the little, red plumber.

The Gaming Industry Today

For a long time, video games were considered little more than children’s toys. Something that kids loved, and adults tolerated. However, it was in the late 90s and early 2000s that this perception of video game was challenged. More and more mature games began hitting the scene, and an increasing number of adults began purchasing games for themselves. The first steps towards a vibrant gaming culture had been taken.

Today, the video game industry is one of the biggest entertainment industries in the world, standing tall next to giants like the film and television show industry. New and improved consoles are being released every couple of years, and the games are a lot more complex graphically, artistically and mechanically. Amidst all of these advancements, one of the most popular and exciting today, is the rise of mobile gaming.

Mobile Gaming

In the past 10 years, mobile games have drastically improved in every way. For one, mobile phones have become a lot more prevalent in society. It isn’t just a luxury anymore, reserved for the most privileged among us. It is also available for anyone with a moderate income. On top of that, computer and programming science has come a long way, and mobile games nowadays can be just as complex as PC or console games.

The biggest reason for the development of mobile gaming today, is the popularity of online casinos like Casinoburst.com, which became popular in the mid-2010s. It was these games that showed that mobile gaming can be a lot more interesting than it was up to that point. Today, the most popular mobile game genres include, gambling games, match-three puzzle games (like Candy Crush), shooter games, strategy games, and of course, roleplaying games.

The Future of Mobile Gaming

With technology advancing at a rapid pace, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if mobile gaming became even more widespread and popular in the coming future. With games like Diablo Immortal and Raid: Shadow Legends achieving worldwide notoriety and success, many believe that mobile gaming will soon become just as popular as PC or console gaming, if not more so. After all, as we stated before, we all have a phone, whereas not all of us have access to high-powered PC or consoles.

Whether the future of mobile gaming will reach an all-time high in the near future remains to be seen, however, one thing is for certain. As things stand now, mobile gaming is better than it has ever been. More and more smartphones are released, capable of running some fascinating and complex games, which stand toe-to-toe with classics along the lines of Elder Scrolls, Counter-Strike, or Civilization.
