The first phase started in 1920, when the club was founded and received a warm welcome from the fans. After more than 10 years of sticking with lower leagues, Osasuna finally entered the Segunda Division in 1932, before officially joining La Liga in 1935.

The 1985 - 1986 season marked an important turning point when Osasuna achieved a high position in the national rankings, meaning they had tickets to the UEFA Cup. However, then, in the 1993 - 1994 season, they were relegated and played in the Segunda Division.

2005 - 2006 was an impressive season as Osasuna rose to 4th place in La Liga, ensuring them a place in the UEFA Champions League. However, after that success, the 2006 - 2007 season was not so smooth when Osasuna encountered many initial failures.

From 2018 until now, Osasuna has had an impressive return after overcoming two successful promotion seasons, from Segunda Division to La Liga. Currently, with fighting spirit and determination, Osasuna sets a high goal of winning the La Liga championship, a big dream for this team.

4th in La Liga, Atlético Madrid knows very well that it is no longer in the title race, especially after its defeat in the Madrid derby against Real Madrid before the international break 3-2. The last projects for the Madrilenians this season are the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. Quite anecdotally, Atlético will have to deal with Barça again in the quarter-finals of the C1 from next week. At home, Diego Simeone's men have won their last 6 matches in all competitions including a volley inflicted on Barça in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey 4-0. In the process, the Rojiblancos extinguished Espanyol Barcelona 4-2, Club Bruges in the second leg of C1 4-1, Real Sociedad 3-2, Tottenham in the 1/8th final first leg of the Champions 5-2 and finally Getafe in the championship 1-0.

For its part, FC Barcelona still held a 4 point lead over Real Madrid at the start of this day, but Real Madrid had the opportunity to come back very close, at a short length if successful in Mallorca earlier in the day. These last few weeks have been contrasting for Hansi Flick's Barça, winner of only one of their last 4 away matches in all competitions including 2 defeats against Atlético Madrid in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey 4-0 and in the championship on the pitch at Girona 2-1. In the Champions League, before literally blowing Newcastle away at home 7-2, the Blaugrana were dominated in the first leg without losing the match 1-1. Before the international break, Barcelona won timidly against Rayo Vallecano 1-0, thus securing a 5th victory in a row in La Liga after Sevilla 5-2, Athletic Bilbao 0-1, Villarreal 4-1 and Levante 3-0.

18th and therefore under the threat of relegation, Mallorca absolutely needs to take points in this gala poster. The atmosphere is likely to be bubbling at La Palma especially as the Mallorcans won their last home game against the Catalans Espanyol Barcelona 2-1. This success ended an early series of 2 home defeats against Real Sociedad 0-1 and Bétis 1-2. Over the last 10 days of La Liga, Kosovar's partners Vedat Muriqi have lost 6 times for a total of 3 victories. Victorious in the Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid before the international break 3-2, Real Madrid took their revenge for the victory conceded in the first leg in September but they also preserved their chances of the La Liga title by remaining 4 points behind Barça.

Today, it's up to Barcelona to challenge Atlético, and therefore, the Merengue have every reason in the world to want to win in order to temporarily come back to within one point of their Blaugrana rival. The latest misstep for Alvaro Arbeloa's men came against Getafe in La Liga, losing 0-1. Since then, the Broncos have had 5 successive successes in all competitions including a double victory against Man City in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League 3-0 and 1-2 as well as a nice success at home against Elche in La Liga 4-1.
