Osasuna set a high goal of winning the La Liga championship

The first phase started in 1920, when the club was founded and received a warm welcome from the fans. After more than 10 years of sticking with lower leagues, Osasuna finally entered the Segunda Division in 1932, before officially joining La Liga in 1935.

The 1985 - 1986 season marked an important turning point when Osasuna achieved a high position in the national rankings, meaning they had tickets to the UEFA Cup. However, then, in the 1993 - 1994 season, they were relegated and played in the Segunda Division.

2005 - 2006 was an impressive season as Osasuna rose to 4th place in La Liga, ensuring them a place in the UEFA Champions League. However, after that success, the 2006 - 2007 season was not so smooth when Osasuna encountered many initial failures.

From 2018 until now, Osasuna has had an impressive return after overcoming two successful promotion seasons, from Segunda Division to La Liga. Currently, with fighting spirit and determination, Osasuna sets a high goal of winning the La Liga championship, a big dream for this team.

We are still very far from the form of Bétis last year with a successful season evidenced by his league conference final against Lost Chelsea and his qualification in the League of the Europa League. Bétis won only one of its first five games in the elite, it was at home on the smallest of margins against Deportivo Alaves 1-0. Since this meeting, the Verdiblancos have no longer won, thus contracting two draws against Celta Vigo 1-1 and last weekend at the promoted, Levante 2-2 as well as a defeat for the reception of the Athletic Bilbao 1-2. In front, it is for the moment the big void at the Real Sociedad who comes to get lost at home against Real Madrid, which was in Numerity de Dean Huijsen in the first period defeat 1-2.

Mikel Oyarzabal thought he had revived his partners on a penalty, but in the game, the Basques never made their superiority felt and have no more worried Thibault Courtois. This reverse represents perfectly the start of the season of the residents of Anoeta, unable to change the rhythms of the meetings or to prick their opponents. Before the truce, they had lost in Oviedo 1-0, in the wake of their two draws against Valence in Mestalla 1-1 and against the Pericos of Espanyol Barcelona at home 2-2.

Alavés welcome Sevilla to the Estadio de Mendizorroza on September 21 in what promises to be a tightly contested LaLiga fixture. Eduardo Coudet’s side have shown flashes of resilience early in the season, notably holding Atlético Madrid to a 1-1 draw and edging Levante 2-1 on opening day. With four points from three matches, Alavés sit mid-table, but their recent 1-0 away win over Athletic Bilbao has injected fresh confidence into the squad. Toni Martínez and Carlos Vicente have emerged as key attacking outlets, while Antonio Sivera’s consistency between the posts has kept them competitive despite defensive injuries to Moussa Diarra and Carlos Benavidez.

Sevilla, meanwhile, are still searching for rhythm under Matías Almeyda. After a rocky start with losses to Athletic Club and Getafe, they bounced back with a 2-0 win over Girona and a spirited 2-2 draw against Elche. The Andalusians have been plagued by inconsistency and injuries, with Joan Jordan ruled out and doubts lingering over Tanguy Nianzou, Akor Adams, and Adnan Januzaj. The departure of Dodi Lukebakio to Benfica has left a creative void, though Rubén Vargas has stepped up admirably, drawing interest from Premier League clubs . Almeyda’s tactical tweaks have yet to yield sustained results, but the team’s attacking trio of Vargas, Alfon González, and Isaac Romero remains dangerous.

Girona, still coached by Michel, seems to be cruelly stuck in the continuity of the past season. Two years ago, the Blanquivermells rolled up the majority of the teams in this championship by even obtaining their ticket for the Champions League, the first participation in the history of the club. But since then, precious players have gone and the recruits have never managed to fill these departures. Always difficult to point the finger at a coach who brought this team, this club in the Champions League for the first time in the history of the Catalan club, but clear and to note that his philosophy of football does not take with the current players. As proof, after four games, Girona lost three. Faced with Rayo Vallecano first 1-3, a correction on the lawn of Villarreal 5-0 and without scoring for the reception of Sevilla FC 0-2. Last weekend, the Catalans limited the damage by going to get a balaidos point against Celta Vigo 1-1.

Levante is currently suffering from a sporting point of view but its performance is notable. The granotes almost made the perfect heist in Alaves during the first day defeat 2-1, not far from beating Barça at home defeat 2-3 and able to keep Bétis in last weekend 2-2. This training is not far from taking the victory each time, but for the moment, the small details do not run in its favor. Note all the same that against Barça and Bétis, Levante led two goals to nothing, and can, in a way, bite their fingers. Let us not forget to evoke the disappointment before the international break on the lawn of Elche in a shock between promoted 2-0 defeat.

Unlike last year, Real Madrid starts much better with an accounting assessment of 12 points following its 4 victories in 4 days. Success obtained against Osasuna on the first day 1-0, on the lawn of the promoted Oviedo 0-3, before the truce for the reception of Mallorca 2-1 and last weekend on the pre of Real Sociedad despite the expulsion of Dean Huijsen Victoire 1-2. Espanyol Barcelona moves to Bernabéu without having lost the slightest match this season. Monday evening, for the reception of Mallorca, the Pericos went to win the meeting by evolving in inferiority during the entire 2nd act despite the return to the score of the majority via a double of Vedat Muriqi Victoire 3-2. It is also the Kike Garcia ex-Alaves offensive recruit which allowed the Espanyol to take the 3 points by scoring the goal of victory on penalty.

The Catalans won their first three home games against Atlético Madrid 2-1 and Osasuna 1-0. Their only trip could have materialized in victory after having led 0-2 but the Real Sociedad returned to the 2-2 brand. It is a test match today for the Barcelona training.

Valencia welcome Athletic Bilbao to the Mestalla on September 20th in what promises to be a tightly contested LaLiga clash. The hosts, under the guidance of Carlos Corberán, are riding a wave of confidence after a commanding 3-0 win over Getafe, with goals from Hugo Duro, Mouctar Diakhaby, and Arnaut Danjuma. That result snapped a winless streak and injected much-needed momentum into a side that had previously struggled to convert possession into goals. With four points from their opening matches and a mid-table standing, Los Che will be eager to build on their recent success and climb the rankings.

Athletic Bilbao, meanwhile, arrive in Valencia with wind in their sails. Ernesto Valverde’s men are sitting second in the table, having collected nine points from their first four games. Their latest outing saw them edge Real Betis 2-1, thanks to goals from Marc Bartra and Aitor Paredes. However, the Basque side will be without star winger Nico Williams, who sustained an injury ahead of their Champions League opener against Arsenal. His absence could tilt the attacking balance, especially as Bilbao have conceded nine goals in their last six matches—an area Valencia may look to exploit.

Villarreal welcome Osasuna to Estadio de la Cerámica on September 20th for a LaLiga clash that promises more than just points—it’s a test of resilience and tactical sharpness. The Yellow Submarine, under the guidance of Marcelino, have shown flashes of brilliance early in the season, notably dismantling Girona 5-0 and edging past Real Oviedo. However, recent stumbles—a draw against Celta Vigo and a 2-0 defeat to Atlético Madrid—have exposed defensive vulnerabilities. Injuries to key defenders Logan Costa, Pau Cabanes, and Willy Kambwala have forced reshuffles at the back, while Gerard Moreno remains a doubt with a lingering hamstring issue. In his absence, Nicolas Pépé has stepped up, earning LaLiga’s Player of the Month honors for August and likely leading the line again.

Osasuna, meanwhile, arrive in Villarreal with a mixed bag of form and a squad still finding its rhythm. Alessio Lisci’s side managed a gritty 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano last weekend, thanks to a late strike from Raúl García de Haro. The Navarrese outfit has struggled for goals, netting just once in their first three league outings, but their defensive shape has held firm, conceding only twice. Enzo Boyomo continues to attract Premier League interest with his commanding performances at center-back, while new signing Sheraldo Becker is expected to add pace and unpredictability in attack. Lisci’s tactical approach has leaned on compact midfield blocks and quick transitions, though the lack of final-third precision remains a concern.
