NBA 2025 latest News and Predictions
Stay ahead of the game with our latest NBA blog! Get the inside scoop on the latest news, scores, and expert predictions.

Roughly a month into the newest edition of the NBA season and already there are plenty of storylines that fans need to know about. While it may have seemed like we got everything figured out before the start, many of the early predictions fell through as some rather unexpected developments took place. Injuries are already piling up, expected contenders are struggling, and there is an overall feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity because of these unexpected factors. One thing is certain: it is still rather exciting to see the best of the best go at it night in and night out.
Because of all this, it is not easy for someone deeply invested in the best that basketball has to offer. No longer can you watch a game and know full well who is taking it before it actually finishes. Anything can happen and a bunch of stuff is happening. So how can an average fan of the NBA, or more importantly, an online sports betting enthusiast, prepare for a full slate of games? Is it possible to do enough research and should you trust the odds the bookies make? To these and other questions, we give answers in the following guide. Read on if you love basketball for the newest news, speculations, and predictions.
Struggling Playoff Teams
Two of the bigger stories deal with teams that were expected to make early pushes for the top of the standings and eventually make a deep playoff run. These are mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Considering the names in their ranks and their past success, one of them more so than the other, they should be good for most of the season, right? Well, it seems like that will not be the case this season. It is already looking very bad for them and we have barely scratched the surface.Let us start with Philly. The City of Brotherly Love has been Trusting the Process for years now, but alas, it was to no avail. After numerous disappointments and experiments with stars past their prime, Joel Embiid somehow won an MVP and everyone’s spirits were high. Then, of course, his injuries continued as he was still unable to finish a season and take the team past the second round. Now, he has yet to play a single game this season. He was involved in two controversies already.
First, he said that if it were up to him, he would never play in back-to-back games until the end of his career. For this, the league launched an investigation into Philadelphia’s conducting of player absences. Then, the shoved a reporter in the locker room and got suspended for three games. And all of this after missing the first few games due to injury. It cannot get any worse, can it? Well, Tyrese Maxey is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Paul George is a bit rusty after missing the first several games of the season. All in all, the 76ers are one of the worst teams right now with a 1-7 record and dead last in the Eastern Conference. Betting against them would not be a bad idea going forward.
Right above them with an abysmal 2-7 record are the Milwaukee Bucks, who, compared to Philly, are not struggling with any drama or major injuries to their stars. Sure, Khris Middleton is absent still and is yet to appear this season, but they are used to it by now. Their struggles come from a few other places. First off, it does seem like Doc Rivers is the greatest fraud in NBA coaching in the last 20 years. Since he took over, everything has gone downhill. Losing Jrue Holiday and getting Damian Lillard proved like a mistake as the team is struggling mightily on the defensive end and the duo of Giannis Antetokiunpo and Lillard cannot carry the entire offense on their own. If one of them misses a game, it is a definite loss, and they do tend to miss a game from time to time.
The lack of help from the bench as well as the remainder of the starting five is simply not enough to compete in the East right now. Other teams are younger, faster, and more talented, while the Bucks are the oldest team in the league with an average age of 30.4 years. All you need to know about their roster struggles is the fact that they are playing a 36-year-old Brook Lopez for 30 minutes a game. There is no end in sight to their struggles and Giannis constantly appears in trade rumors. It would be one of the biggest shakeups in the history of the league if or when the Bucks make a move. This cannot go on for much longer as frustration is already at a peak.
Cavaliers are for Real
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers who have run out of the gate to start the season and kept on sprinting. Throw a hurdle at them and they will clear it by a mile. Nothing seems to be phasing them as they opened the new campaign with a 10-0 and it seems like there is no end in sight to their amazing stretch. This is the best start in franchise history, and we are talking about a team that is synonymous with LeBron James. At the moment, Stake gives them the odds of 19.00 to take the title, with 7 other teams in front. Capitalizing now would be an amazing wagering foresight and they could very well do it.
Donovan Mitchel and Darius Garland are leading the backcourt while the twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen are anchoring the post. Such a combination of size and speed, offense and defense, is not present in many other teams. Add a constant threat from beyond the arc from the likes of Max Strus, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill, and Isaac Okoro, and you have a well-rounded team poised for greatness. Betting on the Cavs is one of the surest things in basketball right now so be sure to ride the wave until it lasts. It is a good time once again to be an NBA fan in Cleveland.
Phoenix, Thunder, Celtics on a Roll
This assortment of contenders is doing their thing to open the season as all three teams are great right now. The Phoenix Suns are atop the Western Conference with an 8-1 record, same as the second-best Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic are leading the way as the team is winning games, both close and lopsided, and finally playing well together. The chemistry of OKC is unmatched and it is just so good to watch the guys interact with each other and play so well together. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren are leading the way and their supporting cast is unlike anything else in the league. They could be ready for that final push come playoff time.In the East, right under the mighty Cavs is the defending champion, the Boston Celtics. With the odds to take another title and cement the dynasty being 3.60, they are still the bookies’ favorites. However, many teams are off to an amazing start and could ruin their best chance at a repeat in almost 4 decades. Jason Tatum is playing like an MVP, again, and several guys are coming into their own, especially Payton Pritchard. With Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis down with injuries, the Cs have not yet taken out their best starting five onto the court this season. It is a scary thought to have but there is no saying how good they will be when the gears start turning midway through the season.
Numerous Early MVP Candidates
After the first two weeks, the MVP battle looked nothing like we expected it to. Some names appeared there that no sane person would think of. For example, two Clippers players are incredible right now, but none of them are named James Harden or Kawhi Leonard. It is Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac who have been carrying the load and are the main contributors to the positive 5-4 record of a team who were supposed to be where the Bucks and Philly are right now. Zubac is averaging 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds while Powell is playing out of his mind with 25.7 points per game. The Sacramento Kings hoped for a better start than their current 5-4 record, but there is a lot to be optimistic about right now. They have three players averaging more than 20 points per game. De’Aron Fox is leading the way with 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. DeMar DeRozan is currently at 24.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.6 points, 13 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and has already had several triple-doubles.
that's a wrap from the desert, catch y'all tm for another one 🫡

Defensive Player of the Game presented by @phoonglawcorp pic.twitter.com/JfANZzwY8h
Speaking of the Lithuanian superstar, he has had one of the best games in history, a perfect game as many called it. In their November 6 win over the Toronto Raptors, he did something nobody else has. Pay attention. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He added 1 steal to it. But the great thing about it is that he shot 100% from the floor, 6/6, 100% from the free throw, 5/5, and did not have a single foul or turnover! Such a game is unheard of and it is a testament to how the new, non-American players (Jokic, Sabonis, Giannis, Luka, Shai) are changing the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 7th spot with a 5-4 record after opening the season in big fashion. With big stories surrounding them, none bigger than Bronny James and the new coaching staff led by JJ Reddick, they are handling the business well enough. LeBron James says he plans to play all 82 games this season, something he has only done once in his 22-year-long career. That is promising as the team needs all he can give them, and he is delivering amazingly well for a soon-to-be 40-year-old.
However, it is Anthony Davis who is leading the way and making an early push for the MVP. The 31-year-old is currently averaging 32.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2 blocks per game on 57% shooting. These are MVP numbers and should he be able to play enough games, it could be his year. He is also delivering on the defensive end so it could be a battle between him and Victor Wembanyama for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Upcoming Games and Odds
Orlando Magic
2025-11-21
LA Clippers
Tenth in the Eastern Conference, Orlando keeps its head high with an honorable record of 8 wins - 7 losses. A difficult start to the season for training expected to confirm its ambitious recruitment. Long to start, the Magic are in great shape at the moment with 4 wins in the last 5 games. Prestigious successes like a unifying victory for the NY Knicks on November 13, 107-124, but also and above all, this boss success 121-113 at home in front of the Golden State Warriors 121-113 48 hours ago. In the top 3 of the most disappointing teams of the season, not far behind Indiana leader of this small improvised ranking, we find the Los Angeles Clippers in runner-up place. Does that surprise you? We don't really. Seriously, how can you be in 11th place in the West, beaten 8 times in the last 9 games, with Harden, Leonard, Lopez, Collins etc. on your team? The message is no longer getting through, the errors are accumulating, it smells like the end of the cycle on the Californian side. Traveling to the Philly 76ers, LAC lost its last match down to the wire 110-108.

San Antonio Spurs

Atlanta Hawks
Successful start to the season for the San Antonio Spurs after a month of recovery. For V.Wembanyama's 3rd year in the NBA, the objective for the Spurs is to play in the Play-offs at a minimum. For now with a record of 10 wins - 4 losses, the beginnings of 2025-26 are encouraging. Now, after two consecutive losses against the Golden State Warriors 120-125, 108-109 last week, SA had to react, especially after the announcement of Wemby's injury a few weeks ago. First test validated against the Kings 123-110 and second test validated against the Grizzlies 111-101 48 hours ago. Keep control of operations and continue to play like this because the Atlanta Hawks are among the best surprises of this start of the season in the Eastern Conference. The record of 9 wins - 6 losses reflects the perfect balance in which the franchise finds itself, as well as this 6th place as a reward. For a team without its superstar T.Young, the balance is perfect for the moment. Atlanta had just concluded a perfect road trip in the Western 4/4 conference during which Atlanta ended with successes at the Utah Jazz 122-132 and Phoenix Suns 122-124, but beaten by the invincible Pistons 112-120, winners of their 11th game in a row.

Milwaukee Bucks
2025-11-21
Philadelphia 76ers
Doubly interesting to follow for the Milwaukee Bucks this meeting insofar as the next two weeks of competition will take place without Giannis. For a franchise already in trouble before his injury contracted in the 2nd quarter of the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-106, the arch-dependence created around Giannis Antetokounmpo should weigh down this group in the weeks to come. In danger in the 11th ranking, although the record is still nothing alarming 8 wins - 7 def, Milwaukee had fallen a little before Cleveland, very heavily against Luka Doncic's Lakers 95-119. The Philadelphia 76ers 6th in the Eastern Conference 8 wins - 6 losses arrive at a turning point in their history. Keep Embiid? Trade Embiid? No one really agrees on this debate. What is certain, and factual, is that his best has been in the fridge for months, weighed down by a painful knee, still absent in the last 5 matches for this reason so his playing time had been drastically reduced to 23 minutes out of 48 possible with this in mind. The 76ers on the NBA floor won the last game against the Clippers 110-108 but beat Toronto at home last night 112-121.

Memphis Grizzlies

Sacramento Kings
The Memphis Grizzlies are sinking silently at the moment. Without making much noise, the Tennessee franchise is in bad shape. 4 wins - 11 losses, 12th in the Western Conference, and above all a horrible dynamic, sign of a tough franchise with 9 defeats in the last 10 games. The negative spiral is terrible for the Bears, disordered, and deprived of Morant for the next 2 weeks, the cherry on the cake. Traveling to the Spurs deprived of V.Wembanyama, Memphis managed to do well, solid for more than 40 minutes, before cracking at the end of the match. The Sacramento Kings, 14th in the Western Conference, are in our top 3 biggest disappointments at the start of the season. A ranking dominated by the Pacers 15th, 1st, whose runner-up would probably be the Clippers 11th, 2nd without forgetting the Sacramento Kings, penultimate in the Western Conference, with a squad cut out for the Champions League. Beaten by the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-144, the Denver Nuggets 108-122, the Atlanta Hawks 100-133, and the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-110 in the last 4 games with a minimum gap of 14 points in favor of its opponent, Sacramento was traveling last night to OKC, the upcoming leader.

Portland Trailblazers

Chicago Bulls
Bonus season or obligation to play something for the Portland Trail Blazers? At the start of the season the first option was widely considered as Lillard, having just returned home, was going to miss the entire regular season. Now, after a month of competition, the graft around Jrue Holiday is very interesting. Portland plays good basketball. 9th in the Western Conference, with a record of 6 wins - 8 losses, the franchise has however just surrendered 3 times in a row. Twice on the road, against the Houston Rockets 140-116 and Orlando Magic 117-113 and once at home last night against the Suns 110-127. The Chicago Bulls are 8th in the Eastern Conference with a positive record of 7 wins and 6 losses. After a month of recovery, few people would have counted on a positive result in favor of the Illinois Bulls, announced in reconstruction. After starting with a 5 wins - 1 loss and occupying first place in the Eastern Conference, Chicago had lost its last 4 games in the NBA Bucks 126-110, Cavaliers 128-122, Spurs 117-121, and Jazz 150-147. Before beating the Denver Nuggets 127-130 48 hours ago, defeated for the first time this season in Colorado.

New York Knicks
Although the balance of the franchise has been greatly shaken in recent days, Dallas' goal remains the same, namely to make the Playoffs. In reality at the moment, it's rather negative with 4 wins - 11 losses except that in an ideal scenario, Dallas would continue to win, get Davis back for the season in a few days and Irving in January. In this sense, the week started well against Portland 138-133 on Monday but the back-to-back march on Tuesday against Minnesota 120-96 was too great. The New York Knicks, candidates for the Eastern Conference and NBA title, have a 5-star squad, expected to shine in the Play-offs unlike last season's 4-2 defeat in the conference final against Indiana, which precipitated the fall of Tom Thibodeau. The NY Knicks, fifth in the Eastern Conference 8 wins - 5 losses, are not really moving forward at the moment, are lacking rhythm, like this new defeat conceded against the Miami Heat 115-113 48 hours ago.

Washington Wizards
Minnesota was the 2024-25 Western Conference runner-up, losing to the powerhouse OKC Thunder 4-1. The competition once again seems diabolical in this conference this season with OKC first and logically, but also the Denver Nuggets and the Houston Rockets, without forgetting the Golden State Warriors. But ultimately where are the Minnesota Timberwolves in this hierarchy? For the moment, it's difficult to say as Minnesota is stagnating in 6th place at a time when certain franchises are taking off. The Wolves have still won 5 of their last 6 games, but in their last 5 games won, Minnesota has had a lot of luck on its schedule twice against the Jazz, twice against the Kings and Dallas. Every week, we tell you the same stories about the Wizards of the American capital who don't have much magic. It's a hassle. It struggles to show regularity. It's sluggish... Like this pathetic record 1 victory - 12 defeats only enhanced by the even more disastrous start to the season of the Pacers 15th, 1 victory - 13 defeats. Besides, let's end on that, for Washington's 11th consecutive defeat, A.Sarr's partners did very well by winning 106-129 against the Brooklyn Nets last weekend.

Denver Nuggets
Quickly becoming the favorite victim of his school friends, New Orleans 15th in the West is in a horrible dynamic as this challenge against the Denver Nuggets approaches. The record is famished 2 victories - 12 defeats, and defeats 6 in a row are currently accumulating under the floor. The Pelicans also lost their last 3 duels with a differential of -14 points at the end of the game: first against the LA Lakers 104-118, then against the Golden State Warriors 106-124 and finally 109-126 against the leader OKC. In terms of knowing how to play together, this Denver Nuggets lineup is probably the best in the league. How to compete with guys who are 100% title winners in 2023, the only one in franchise history. Gordon, Murray, Jokic know each other like the back of their hand. It's no surprise to see Denver in 2nd place in the Western Conference with a record of 10 wins - 3 losses. On the other hand, the leader was surprised by the Chicago Bulls 127-130 48 hours ago in Colorado for the first home defeat of the season.

Sacramento Kings
While one might have thought that the post-title season would have destabilized this inexperienced team, ultimately OKC found the recipe for the magic potion. The pace set by SGA's partners is unsustainable for the competition, as reflected in this record of 14 victories - 1 defeat. Only one small setback for the Portland Blazers, conceded 12 days ago in back-to-back, otherwise only victories, as evidenced by the recent success obtained on the night of Monday to Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans 109-126. How can such a talented team on paper find itself in 14th place in the Western Conference? How is it possible, with guys like LaVine, DeRozan and Sabonis to have a record of 3 wins - 11 losses? It's unthinkable. On paper this team should be between 5th and 8th place, but the automatisms are non-existent, like the 6 consecutive defeats collected by the Kings in the current series, all with a gap of at least 13 points in favor of their opponent. We let you savor: Thunder 102-131, Timberwolves 117-144, Nuggets 108-122, Hawks 100-133, Timberwolves 124-110 and Spurs 123-110.

Golden State Warriors
This start to the season for a Miami Heat without Tyler Herro is a nice surprise. 8 wins - 6 losses, a good 7th place, but also a titanic schedule to which Miami responded favorably by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers at home or the New York Knicks in the last match to bring the franchise's record to 6 wins - 1 loss in its home arena. The Miami Heat should find Tyler Herro their best player at the end of the month, and normally the level of play will be another step higher. The Golden State Warriors were in great shape before their last match in Orlando. Not only did the Bay team beat San Antonio Spurs 120-125, 108-109 twice, for Curry compiling no less than 95 points over the two games, but also the New Orleans Pelicans well in the Bayou 106-124. All the lights were green, except that the Magic at home showed a lot of agility and defensive rigor to win by a score of 121-113.

Charlotte Bobcats
For the Indiana Pacers, it's total disillusionment at the start of the year. This horrible start to the season 1 victory - 13 defeats reminds us to what extent the cohesion and health of a group are very fragile things. In the absence of T. Haliburton, this team was unable to bounce back. The reigning Eastern Conference champion occupies 15th place in the bottom conference with only one victory against the Warriors in 1 month of competition. Out of 8 consecutive defeats, the Indiana Pacers, traveling to the Detroit Pistons deprived of Cade Cunningham 48 hours ago, lost another match 127-112. The Charlotte Hornets are in bad 12th, 4 wins – 10 losses. They did not wait until they had several absentees before not moving forward, however, the outlook seems to be able to improve. Indeed, if Charlotte is used to regularly passing through its Drafts, it seems that this year the North Carolina franchise has got its hands on a gem, in the person of Kon Knueppel. With an average of 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, he is the best rookie at the start of the season, synonymous with hope for Charlotte. In 3 consecutive defeats, the Hornets had several opportunities to win against the Raptors 48 hours ago, but they were unlucky at the end of the game 110-108.

Toronto Raptors
What if this Philly 76ers team was finally in its place with this 6th position in the standings? Yes, we can consider it that way. With 8 victories - 5 defeats, a team too often without its main leader Jo Embiid cannot really hope for better. In fact, Philly has won 2 of its last 3 games on the last possession. Both played at home. Against the Boston Celtics in the historic Eastern Conference derby 102-100 on Wednesday, November 12 and against the Los Angeles Clippers 110-108 48 hours ago. Meanwhile, logical defeat at the conference leader, Detroit. 8th victory in 9 games for the Toronto Raptors currently on the podium in the 3rd Eastern Conference. The Toronto Raptors have indeed maintained their excellent form in a difficult match to win against the Charlotte Hornets who were more inspired than last year. The transformation is spectacular 30 wins - 52 losses in 2025 but it is always good to remember that the returns from injury of Brandon Ingram and Jakob Poëtl change the situation for a Canadian team victorious over the Hornets 110-108 at the end of a final defensive possession which perfectly sums up the state of mind of the franchise at the end of 2025.

Houston Rockets
Taking control of operations in the regular season like the 2024-25 financial year, this could be the mission of Kenny Atkinson's men, especially keen to win the title this year. After failing in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Indiana Pacers 4-1, there is no room for error this year for the 2016 champion. With this in mind, with a record of 10 wins and 5 losses, Cleveland has just won its last two NBA games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies 108-100 and Milwaukee Bucks 118-106. Not only ambitious with the arrival of Kevin Durant, this Houston team is winning games 9 wins - 3 losses and seems to be finding its rhythm. KD and A.Sengun, the powerful Turk, guide the Rockets in hot moments. 3rd in the Western Conference, driven by a record of 9 victories in the last 10 games, there is no doubt about it, Houston is in great shape, reflecting this mental success in beating the Orlando Magic 117-113 at home. Overtime first, then KD 35 points in total and Sengun 30 points in Play-offs mode.

So what about some immediate games and the newest NBA sports betting odds? We have you covered. This weekend is full of great games, particularly on Sunday. The Suns are playing the Kings in a great Western Conference duel. Considering their current form and how well the team is playing together, the Suns’ odds of 1.46 make sense over the Kings’ 2.80. The over/under is 227.5 and should be a great over (1.77) to play as both teams have some heavy hitters on their rosters. Among Durant, Booker, and Beal on one side and Fox, DeRozan, and Sabonis on the other, it should be an easy win.
The struggling Bucks are playing the Celtics in what was supposed to be an Eastern Conference clash of contenders. However, it is not guaranteed due to the current form of the Milwaukee team. Still, Giannis and Lillard have a lot to prove and could actually come on top. Tatum is the lone star as his team is incomplete, hence the 1.80 odds for the Celtics and the 2.06 odds for the Bucks. This may be the game that turns it around for the Wisconsin team.
Who doesn’t like when the New York Knicks are good? It is simply great for the league and the sport! They are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Indiana Pacers as the trades proved successful. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges on one side, and Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner are more than enough to get you the 1.77 over on the 226.5 threshold. As for the winner, the Knicks should take it. The bookies predict it and give them 1.81 over the Pacers’ 2.05.
