NBA 2025 latest News and Predictions
Stay ahead of the game with our latest NBA blog! Get the inside scoop on the latest news, scores, and expert predictions.

Roughly a month into the newest edition of the NBA season and already there are plenty of storylines that fans need to know about. While it may have seemed like we got everything figured out before the start, many of the early predictions fell through as some rather unexpected developments took place. Injuries are already piling up, expected contenders are struggling, and there is an overall feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity because of these unexpected factors. One thing is certain: it is still rather exciting to see the best of the best go at it night in and night out.
Because of all this, it is not easy for someone deeply invested in the best that basketball has to offer. No longer can you watch a game and know full well who is taking it before it actually finishes. Anything can happen and a bunch of stuff is happening. So how can an average fan of the NBA, or more importantly, an online sports betting enthusiast, prepare for a full slate of games? Is it possible to do enough research and should you trust the odds the bookies make? To these and other questions, we give answers in the following guide. Read on if you love basketball for the newest news, speculations, and predictions.
Struggling Playoff Teams
Two of the bigger stories deal with teams that were expected to make early pushes for the top of the standings and eventually make a deep playoff run. These are mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Considering the names in their ranks and their past success, one of them more so than the other, they should be good for most of the season, right? Well, it seems like that will not be the case this season. It is already looking very bad for them and we have barely scratched the surface.Let us start with Philly. The City of Brotherly Love has been Trusting the Process for years now, but alas, it was to no avail. After numerous disappointments and experiments with stars past their prime, Joel Embiid somehow won an MVP and everyone’s spirits were high. Then, of course, his injuries continued as he was still unable to finish a season and take the team past the second round. Now, he has yet to play a single game this season. He was involved in two controversies already.
First, he said that if it were up to him, he would never play in back-to-back games until the end of his career. For this, the league launched an investigation into Philadelphia’s conducting of player absences. Then, the shoved a reporter in the locker room and got suspended for three games. And all of this after missing the first few games due to injury. It cannot get any worse, can it? Well, Tyrese Maxey is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Paul George is a bit rusty after missing the first several games of the season. All in all, the 76ers are one of the worst teams right now with a 1-7 record and dead last in the Eastern Conference. Betting against them would not be a bad idea going forward.
Right above them with an abysmal 2-7 record are the Milwaukee Bucks, who, compared to Philly, are not struggling with any drama or major injuries to their stars. Sure, Khris Middleton is absent still and is yet to appear this season, but they are used to it by now. Their struggles come from a few other places. First off, it does seem like Doc Rivers is the greatest fraud in NBA coaching in the last 20 years. Since he took over, everything has gone downhill. Losing Jrue Holiday and getting Damian Lillard proved like a mistake as the team is struggling mightily on the defensive end and the duo of Giannis Antetokiunpo and Lillard cannot carry the entire offense on their own. If one of them misses a game, it is a definite loss, and they do tend to miss a game from time to time.
The lack of help from the bench as well as the remainder of the starting five is simply not enough to compete in the East right now. Other teams are younger, faster, and more talented, while the Bucks are the oldest team in the league with an average age of 30.4 years. All you need to know about their roster struggles is the fact that they are playing a 36-year-old Brook Lopez for 30 minutes a game. There is no end in sight to their struggles and Giannis constantly appears in trade rumors. It would be one of the biggest shakeups in the history of the league if or when the Bucks make a move. This cannot go on for much longer as frustration is already at a peak.
Cavaliers are for Real
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers who have run out of the gate to start the season and kept on sprinting. Throw a hurdle at them and they will clear it by a mile. Nothing seems to be phasing them as they opened the new campaign with a 10-0 and it seems like there is no end in sight to their amazing stretch. This is the best start in franchise history, and we are talking about a team that is synonymous with LeBron James. At the moment, Stake gives them the odds of 19.00 to take the title, with 7 other teams in front. Capitalizing now would be an amazing wagering foresight and they could very well do it.
Donovan Mitchel and Darius Garland are leading the backcourt while the twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen are anchoring the post. Such a combination of size and speed, offense and defense, is not present in many other teams. Add a constant threat from beyond the arc from the likes of Max Strus, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill, and Isaac Okoro, and you have a well-rounded team poised for greatness. Betting on the Cavs is one of the surest things in basketball right now so be sure to ride the wave until it lasts. It is a good time once again to be an NBA fan in Cleveland.
Phoenix, Thunder, Celtics on a Roll
This assortment of contenders is doing their thing to open the season as all three teams are great right now. The Phoenix Suns are atop the Western Conference with an 8-1 record, same as the second-best Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic are leading the way as the team is winning games, both close and lopsided, and finally playing well together. The chemistry of OKC is unmatched and it is just so good to watch the guys interact with each other and play so well together. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren are leading the way and their supporting cast is unlike anything else in the league. They could be ready for that final push come playoff time.In the East, right under the mighty Cavs is the defending champion, the Boston Celtics. With the odds to take another title and cement the dynasty being 3.60, they are still the bookies’ favorites. However, many teams are off to an amazing start and could ruin their best chance at a repeat in almost 4 decades. Jason Tatum is playing like an MVP, again, and several guys are coming into their own, especially Payton Pritchard. With Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis down with injuries, the Cs have not yet taken out their best starting five onto the court this season. It is a scary thought to have but there is no saying how good they will be when the gears start turning midway through the season.
Numerous Early MVP Candidates
After the first two weeks, the MVP battle looked nothing like we expected it to. Some names appeared there that no sane person would think of. For example, two Clippers players are incredible right now, but none of them are named James Harden or Kawhi Leonard. It is Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac who have been carrying the load and are the main contributors to the positive 5-4 record of a team who were supposed to be where the Bucks and Philly are right now. Zubac is averaging 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds while Powell is playing out of his mind with 25.7 points per game. The Sacramento Kings hoped for a better start than their current 5-4 record, but there is a lot to be optimistic about right now. They have three players averaging more than 20 points per game. De’Aron Fox is leading the way with 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. DeMar DeRozan is currently at 24.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.6 points, 13 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and has already had several triple-doubles.
that's a wrap from the desert, catch y'all tm for another one 🫡

Defensive Player of the Game presented by @phoonglawcorp pic.twitter.com/JfANZzwY8h
Speaking of the Lithuanian superstar, he has had one of the best games in history, a perfect game as many called it. In their November 6 win over the Toronto Raptors, he did something nobody else has. Pay attention. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He added 1 steal to it. But the great thing about it is that he shot 100% from the floor, 6/6, 100% from the free throw, 5/5, and did not have a single foul or turnover! Such a game is unheard of and it is a testament to how the new, non-American players (Jokic, Sabonis, Giannis, Luka, Shai) are changing the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 7th spot with a 5-4 record after opening the season in big fashion. With big stories surrounding them, none bigger than Bronny James and the new coaching staff led by JJ Reddick, they are handling the business well enough. LeBron James says he plans to play all 82 games this season, something he has only done once in his 22-year-long career. That is promising as the team needs all he can give them, and he is delivering amazingly well for a soon-to-be 40-year-old.
However, it is Anthony Davis who is leading the way and making an early push for the MVP. The 31-year-old is currently averaging 32.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2 blocks per game on 57% shooting. These are MVP numbers and should he be able to play enough games, it could be his year. He is also delivering on the defensive end so it could be a battle between him and Victor Wembanyama for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Upcoming Games and Odds
New Orleans Pelicans
2025-11-15
LA Lakers
With Zion it was already difficult to win games, but without Z, it becomes mission impossible for the Pelicans who have only won two of their eleven games played in the big league this season. Since its success on the floor of the Mavericks 99-101, New Orleans has had three defeats in a row, on the floor of the Spurs 126-119, the Suns 121-98 and during the week for the reception of the Portland Blazers 117-125. Without much surprise, NOLA occupies last place in the West with a soporific record of 2 victories for 9 defeats. Traveling to the defending champion on Wednesday evening, the Lakers were quite simply overwhelmed by the defensive aggressiveness of the Thunder and quite logically defeated 121-92. Luka Doncic did not weigh in on the game and largely lost his match with SGA. We almost want to say that this OKC team is to be forgotten for the moment, too strong, too rough and in levitation following its coronation. Although we will have to pass over him to win the title next June, currently, the Thunder is out of category. Overall, without LeBron James, the Angelinos have had a good start to the season 8v, 4d.

Houston Rockets

Portland Trail Blazers
This Houston team obviously knows its ambitions this season, to qualify for the playoffs and at least reach the conference final. Now with a Kevin Durant in its ranks, H-Town wins more matches and will defend a record of 7 wins for 3 losses tonight. Defeated in San Antonio recently 121-110, the franchise with 2 NBA titles immediately righted the ship by successively defeating Milwaukee in Wisconsin 155-122 and the Washington Wizards 135-112. Houston has won 7 of its last 8 games and is in fourth place in the West. For its part, Portland combines the good and the bad. As a reminder, the Blazers are the only ones to have brought down the reigning champion this season: the OKC Thunder won 121-119 but, in the process, they failed to confirm this feat by losing in quick succession to the Miami Heat 136-131 and the Orlando Magic 115-112. During the week, traveling to Louisiana to challenge the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland rediscovered the taste of success, winning 117-125. Carried by a record of 6 victories for 5 defeats, the Oregon players are installed in the top 10 in the West.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Sacramento Kings
Installed in 6th place in the West, the Timberwolves are not yet at the peak of their full potential, as evidenced by their two defeats in four home games. But, without dwelling on these setbacks, let's instead talk about the three victories in a row in Minnesota's current series against the Jazz at home 137-97, on the road on the California side against the Sacramento Kings in person 117-144 and again against Utah but in Salt Lake City this time 113-120..It's cruel for Sacramento fans. Seeing your team play five successive games at home and only celebrating one victory, against the Warriors 121-116, is ugly. Indeed, in the process, Sacto chained four losses in a row against OKC 101-132, forgetting to defend against this same Minnesota team 117-144, the Denver Nuggets 108-122 and during the week for the reception of the Atlanta Hawks, being there too, picking up on both sides of the floor 100-133.

Milwaukee Bucks

Charlotte Hornets
Milwaukee is expected to play for the title, at least it is its only option if the franchise wishes to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo in the coming weeks. The Greek announced that his dream would be to play in Milwaukee his entire career, but he is fighting to win NBA titles, not simply to reach the first round of the playoffs. In recent matches, the Bucks have had difficulty stringing together victories, losing the next match. No winning streak put in place by the local franchise which has just lost against Charlotte in North Carolina 111-100 on the heels of a great victory in Dallas 114-116. Pay attention to the regularity for the Bucks who are fiddling with the play-in folding seats in the East 7th. In defeat, Charlotte played very well against the Lakers at the start of the week 111-121. There is fun and good moments for the Hornets but they have to work on their breathing holes in order to win a few more matches 4 wins, 7 losses. Despite the absence of Lamelo Ball, its flagship player, the North Carolina franchise stopped a series of three successive defeats by offering the same Bucks a 111-100 victory during the week. It would now be a question of confirmation but this is where, as a general rule, we recognize the teams built to reign in the NBA, that is to say, knowing how to reproduce their good performances 80% of the time on a regular basis. In the standings, Charlotte finds some hope by being 12th in the East and being two victories from the play-in.

Dallas Mavericks

LA Clippers
Dallas is quite simply the worst team in the Western Conference at home with 2 wins for 6 losses including two to date against the Milwaukee Bucks 114-115 and the Phoenix Suns Wednesday evening 114-123. In the rankings, due to a very delicate record of 3 victories for 9 defeats, the Texan franchise occupies the top 13, far from the expectations placed on it. The Clippers have no reason to laugh at the Mavericks' state of form since they have won the same number of games for a defeat of minus 3 wins, 8 losses. Away, it's a video gag for the Angelinos who have still not won a single match, thus losing their three trips to the Jazz 129-108, the Golden State Warriors 98-79 and Phoenix 115-102. During the week, the Clippers suffered a sixth defeat in a row in the NBA, being defeated by Nikola Jokic 55 points and his Nuggets losing 116-130.

Golden State Warriors
The San Antonio Spurs 3rd in the West, have just lost at home against the same Golden State Warriors 120-125, Wednesday evening, carried by an insolent Stephen Curry 46 points. The time for revenge has come for the Texans who remained on three great victories against the Houston Rockets 121-110, the New Orleans Pelicans 126-119 and on the floor of the Chicago Bulls Monday evening 117-121. The results are juicy for Wembanyama and his partners: 8 victories, 3 defeats. The Golden State Warriors once again proved to be killers away from home, winning on one of the most difficult floors to attack at the start of the season, that of the Spurs, winning 120-125. The Warriors had before that, lost six of their seven away games and a huge rant was made by the executives after the slap conceded on the floor of the irresistible OKC Thunder 126-102. We will now see if the message has been understood by Steve Kerr's men who only occupy 9th place in the West.

Phoenix Suns

Indiana Pacers
At the Phoenix Suns, the sun shines at its zenith. No more, no less. The entire group is doing tremendous things after the departures of Beal and Durant. On paper, it was a little hard to believe it, especially with such a sparse bench and Jalen Green's injury which relapsed. Besides, we don't really see how the Suns could continue like this with the latter's injury but for now they have won their last 4 games. In front of Kawhi's Clippers 115-102, 103-114 twice, the Pelicans 121-98 last in the Western Conference and finally at the Dallas Mavericks last night, the penultimate 114-123. When it comes time to count the points, Indiana 14th, 1 win - 10 losses is on the street. We cannot move on and even without Haliburton to the eliminations in the Play-offs of the Cavaliers semi, the Knicks final and a title in the East, one game away from winning the NBA title defeat in game 7, a penultimate place in the East a few months later. The trauma after this lost final is obviously too much to bear for this group... Winners of only one of their 11 games, the Pacers hit rock bottom recently, beaten by 9 points or more in the last 4 games. In front of the Nets 103-112 to start a series ended with a 152-128 against the Utah Jazz at the start of the week. Only NBA team to have conceded 150 pawns or more.

Atlanta Hawks
The Utah Jazz 10th, 4 wins - 7 losses, are oscillating between two waters but the gap with the 9th Golden State, 7 wins - 6 losses is already striking. Without being too disrespectful to this franchise which has had some great players such as Malone and Stockton, it is not cut out, here now for the top 8. And since the announced withdrawal of Walker Kessler for the season, it is more or less over in people's minds. Nevertheless, after two losses against the Wolves 137-97, 113-120, the Utah Jazz broke the ever more disappointing Pacers: 152-128. Let's stop right now... to salute the performance of the Atlanta Hawks. Deprived of T.Young since the start of the season or almost, they are for the moment united and inspired. 5th in the Western Conference 7 wins - 5 losses, the Falcons have won some very good battles against Western franchises recently. In front of the Los Angeles Lakers 122-102 on November 9, a few days before starting this road trip to the West in the best way at the Clippers 102-105 to conclude with a collective demonstration last night on the floor of the Sacramento Kings 100-133.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Toronto Raptors
Starting at 15-0 last year, finishing first in the regular season in the East, but getting blown out by the Indiana Pacers 4-1 in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, this was the once again dramatic journey of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Play-offs. For his 2nd year at the head of this team, Kenny Atkinson will no longer have a choice. A title in the East is expected by the leaders. With this in mind, Cleveland remains a good student in the regular season 2nd, 8 wins - 4 losses winner against the Miami Heat last night 118-130 for the revenge despite the absence of executives Mitchell, Garland and Mobley. Continuing to move forward without revealing all its cards too much, such is the mission of Toronto 8th, 6 wins - 5 losses for the moment in an efficient and sharp dynamic. The North American Dinosaurs have 5 wins in their last 6 games. For the record, this series took shape after a success in Cleveland 101-112. The following Wednesday, Toronto massacred the Milwaukee Bucks 128-100, and last Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets 109-119.

So what about some immediate games and the newest NBA sports betting odds? We have you covered. This weekend is full of great games, particularly on Sunday. The Suns are playing the Kings in a great Western Conference duel. Considering their current form and how well the team is playing together, the Suns’ odds of 1.46 make sense over the Kings’ 2.80. The over/under is 227.5 and should be a great over (1.77) to play as both teams have some heavy hitters on their rosters. Among Durant, Booker, and Beal on one side and Fox, DeRozan, and Sabonis on the other, it should be an easy win.
The struggling Bucks are playing the Celtics in what was supposed to be an Eastern Conference clash of contenders. However, it is not guaranteed due to the current form of the Milwaukee team. Still, Giannis and Lillard have a lot to prove and could actually come on top. Tatum is the lone star as his team is incomplete, hence the 1.80 odds for the Celtics and the 2.06 odds for the Bucks. This may be the game that turns it around for the Wisconsin team.
Who doesn’t like when the New York Knicks are good? It is simply great for the league and the sport! They are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Indiana Pacers as the trades proved successful. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges on one side, and Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner are more than enough to get you the 1.77 over on the 226.5 threshold. As for the winner, the Knicks should take it. The bookies predict it and give them 1.81 over the Pacers’ 2.05.
