NBA 2025 latest News and Predictions
Stay ahead of the game with our latest NBA blog! Get the inside scoop on the latest news, scores, and expert predictions.

Roughly a month into the newest edition of the NBA season and already there are plenty of storylines that fans need to know about. While it may have seemed like we got everything figured out before the start, many of the early predictions fell through as some rather unexpected developments took place. Injuries are already piling up, expected contenders are struggling, and there is an overall feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity because of these unexpected factors. One thing is certain: it is still rather exciting to see the best of the best go at it night in and night out.
Because of all this, it is not easy for someone deeply invested in the best that basketball has to offer. No longer can you watch a game and know full well who is taking it before it actually finishes. Anything can happen and a bunch of stuff is happening. So how can an average fan of the NBA, or more importantly, an online sports betting enthusiast, prepare for a full slate of games? Is it possible to do enough research and should you trust the odds the bookies make? To these and other questions, we give answers in the following guide. Read on if you love basketball for the newest news, speculations, and predictions.
Struggling Playoff Teams
Two of the bigger stories deal with teams that were expected to make early pushes for the top of the standings and eventually make a deep playoff run. These are mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Considering the names in their ranks and their past success, one of them more so than the other, they should be good for most of the season, right? Well, it seems like that will not be the case this season. It is already looking very bad for them and we have barely scratched the surface.Let us start with Philly. The City of Brotherly Love has been Trusting the Process for years now, but alas, it was to no avail. After numerous disappointments and experiments with stars past their prime, Joel Embiid somehow won an MVP and everyone’s spirits were high. Then, of course, his injuries continued as he was still unable to finish a season and take the team past the second round. Now, he has yet to play a single game this season. He was involved in two controversies already.
First, he said that if it were up to him, he would never play in back-to-back games until the end of his career. For this, the league launched an investigation into Philadelphia’s conducting of player absences. Then, the shoved a reporter in the locker room and got suspended for three games. And all of this after missing the first few games due to injury. It cannot get any worse, can it? Well, Tyrese Maxey is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Paul George is a bit rusty after missing the first several games of the season. All in all, the 76ers are one of the worst teams right now with a 1-7 record and dead last in the Eastern Conference. Betting against them would not be a bad idea going forward.
Right above them with an abysmal 2-7 record are the Milwaukee Bucks, who, compared to Philly, are not struggling with any drama or major injuries to their stars. Sure, Khris Middleton is absent still and is yet to appear this season, but they are used to it by now. Their struggles come from a few other places. First off, it does seem like Doc Rivers is the greatest fraud in NBA coaching in the last 20 years. Since he took over, everything has gone downhill. Losing Jrue Holiday and getting Damian Lillard proved like a mistake as the team is struggling mightily on the defensive end and the duo of Giannis Antetokiunpo and Lillard cannot carry the entire offense on their own. If one of them misses a game, it is a definite loss, and they do tend to miss a game from time to time.
The lack of help from the bench as well as the remainder of the starting five is simply not enough to compete in the East right now. Other teams are younger, faster, and more talented, while the Bucks are the oldest team in the league with an average age of 30.4 years. All you need to know about their roster struggles is the fact that they are playing a 36-year-old Brook Lopez for 30 minutes a game. There is no end in sight to their struggles and Giannis constantly appears in trade rumors. It would be one of the biggest shakeups in the history of the league if or when the Bucks make a move. This cannot go on for much longer as frustration is already at a peak.
Cavaliers are for Real
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers who have run out of the gate to start the season and kept on sprinting. Throw a hurdle at them and they will clear it by a mile. Nothing seems to be phasing them as they opened the new campaign with a 10-0 and it seems like there is no end in sight to their amazing stretch. This is the best start in franchise history, and we are talking about a team that is synonymous with LeBron James. At the moment, Stake gives them the odds of 19.00 to take the title, with 7 other teams in front. Capitalizing now would be an amazing wagering foresight and they could very well do it.
Donovan Mitchel and Darius Garland are leading the backcourt while the twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen are anchoring the post. Such a combination of size and speed, offense and defense, is not present in many other teams. Add a constant threat from beyond the arc from the likes of Max Strus, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill, and Isaac Okoro, and you have a well-rounded team poised for greatness. Betting on the Cavs is one of the surest things in basketball right now so be sure to ride the wave until it lasts. It is a good time once again to be an NBA fan in Cleveland.
Phoenix, Thunder, Celtics on a Roll
This assortment of contenders is doing their thing to open the season as all three teams are great right now. The Phoenix Suns are atop the Western Conference with an 8-1 record, same as the second-best Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic are leading the way as the team is winning games, both close and lopsided, and finally playing well together. The chemistry of OKC is unmatched and it is just so good to watch the guys interact with each other and play so well together. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren are leading the way and their supporting cast is unlike anything else in the league. They could be ready for that final push come playoff time.In the East, right under the mighty Cavs is the defending champion, the Boston Celtics. With the odds to take another title and cement the dynasty being 3.60, they are still the bookies’ favorites. However, many teams are off to an amazing start and could ruin their best chance at a repeat in almost 4 decades. Jason Tatum is playing like an MVP, again, and several guys are coming into their own, especially Payton Pritchard. With Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis down with injuries, the Cs have not yet taken out their best starting five onto the court this season. It is a scary thought to have but there is no saying how good they will be when the gears start turning midway through the season.
Numerous Early MVP Candidates
After the first two weeks, the MVP battle looked nothing like we expected it to. Some names appeared there that no sane person would think of. For example, two Clippers players are incredible right now, but none of them are named James Harden or Kawhi Leonard. It is Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac who have been carrying the load and are the main contributors to the positive 5-4 record of a team who were supposed to be where the Bucks and Philly are right now. Zubac is averaging 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds while Powell is playing out of his mind with 25.7 points per game. The Sacramento Kings hoped for a better start than their current 5-4 record, but there is a lot to be optimistic about right now. They have three players averaging more than 20 points per game. De’Aron Fox is leading the way with 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. DeMar DeRozan is currently at 24.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.6 points, 13 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and has already had several triple-doubles.
that's a wrap from the desert, catch y'all tm for another one 🫡

Defensive Player of the Game presented by @phoonglawcorp pic.twitter.com/JfANZzwY8h
Speaking of the Lithuanian superstar, he has had one of the best games in history, a perfect game as many called it. In their November 6 win over the Toronto Raptors, he did something nobody else has. Pay attention. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He added 1 steal to it. But the great thing about it is that he shot 100% from the floor, 6/6, 100% from the free throw, 5/5, and did not have a single foul or turnover! Such a game is unheard of and it is a testament to how the new, non-American players (Jokic, Sabonis, Giannis, Luka, Shai) are changing the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 7th spot with a 5-4 record after opening the season in big fashion. With big stories surrounding them, none bigger than Bronny James and the new coaching staff led by JJ Reddick, they are handling the business well enough. LeBron James says he plans to play all 82 games this season, something he has only done once in his 22-year-long career. That is promising as the team needs all he can give them, and he is delivering amazingly well for a soon-to-be 40-year-old.
However, it is Anthony Davis who is leading the way and making an early push for the MVP. The 31-year-old is currently averaging 32.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2 blocks per game on 57% shooting. These are MVP numbers and should he be able to play enough games, it could be his year. He is also delivering on the defensive end so it could be a battle between him and Victor Wembanyama for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Upcoming Games and Odds
Indiana Pacers
2025-12-09
Sacramento Kings
Casting stones at Indiana, as we repeat quite often, is simply impossible given the mitigating circumstances to take into account. Finding the finalist of the Eastern Conference on December 8, 2025 in penultimate place is indeed a little exaggerated, but everything is difficult for Indiana deprived of many players although it has won 3 of its last 5 games in the NBA quite favorably. In front of the Washington Wizards 119-86 in the first place, for the reception of the Chicago Bulls 103-101 and again in front of the Bulls this weekend 105-120 for the first victory of the team on the road, in the United Center. The Sacramento Kings 13th in the West, 6 wins - 17 losses are not that far from the 10th place occupied by Portland 9 wins - 15 losses synonymous with Play-in. To do this, putting a little pressure on the accelerator seems inevitable, essential. In this sense the Kings carried out an XXL operation by winning on the road against the Miami Heat 111-127. A victory of +16 which is reminiscent of the quality of the players present in the squad, an evening when LaVine exceeded 40 points.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Phoenix Suns
The Minnesota Timberwolves, as runners-up in the Eastern Conference for Julius Randle's first year in the group, are focused on one goal, namely the title before the end of the year. Because yes, for Minnesota such an objective meets the adequacy of the franchise, also meets the qualities of a unique group like Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Julius Randle. After a small scare at the start of the season, Minnesota won its last 5 NBA games ahead of the Celtics 119-115, Spurs 125-112, Pelicans 142-149, 116-125 and Clippers 109-106. The Phoenix Suns 7th, 13 wins - 10 losses are in possession of a serious record in a difficult context to cope with this summer. This franchise constantly performs miracles to keep the ship afloat, on screen. last week of unpredictable success with the Los Angeles Lakers on the road. Not really favorites, the Arizona players lost Booker after 10 minutes of play. But once again against all odds, the Suns weathered the local storm to beat LeBron's partners 108-125. In the process, however, it was too complicated against Rockets 117-98.

San Antonio Spurs
The mess is immense around Zion Williamson. Expected to be a phenomenon in the big league, injuries will have devastated the former Duke colossus. Because the worst part of this story. When he is on the Zion.W floor, he makes everyone agree. But the injuries got the better of him, his weight didn't help him either... Zion injured, Ingram left for Toronto, McCollum with the Wizards, D.Murray OUT since the start of the year. This is what the former 2024-25 starting 5 looks like, Play-offs version. 15th in the West at the moment, New Orleans has lost its last 6 games in the NBA in front of Warriors, Lakers, Timberwolves twice, The San Antonio Spurs in the logic of things and if V.Wembanyama wishes to initiate a positive dynamic in this formation will have to qualify for the Play-offs. Via the top 6 would be ideal, but the 7th and 8th places obtained via the Play-in will allow the Spurs to join the first round as well. Quickly, the Spurs are doing a very big job this year because despite the repeated absences of Wembanyama and Fox, the team continues to perform, 5th in the West 15 wins - 7 losses, but beaten in its last duel among the C.Cavaliers 130-117.

Utah Jazz

Oklahoma City Thunder
The Utah Jazz, 11th in the Western Conference, arrives in this match with the firm intention of having a very good match in order not to fall behind the top 10. Coherent start to the season for the franchise without several starters this year after a summer transfer window marked by reconstruction. A Utah Jazz focus Tuesday ahead of the Houston Rockets 133-125 and then at the Brooklyn Nets 110-123 on the road. On the other hand, the franchise logically fell last to the NY Knicks with a score of 146-112. The OKC Thunder version 2025-26 could explode all records in the NBA. The Warriors' 2016 all-time record is 72-9, and based on current projections, OKC would finish at 79-3 or 78-4. Besides the fact that the franchise wants to remain leader in the West, in possession of the best record in the entire league, going for the record could well motivate the guys. The OKC Thunder, on the night of Friday to Saturday, secured a 14th consecutive victory in the NBA ahead of the Dallas Mavericks 132-111.

Philadelphia 76ers

L. A. Lakers
For the 76ers, this record of 13 wins - 9 losses before the start of this game against the Lakers is a very good thing because the context is not healthy. In the bottom 5 of the conference last year, with Embiid this year on the floor 80% of the time, and in a lineup where Paul George has never yet found his rhythm, it's great for the 76ers to have emerged victorious in their last 3 games: ahead of the Washington Wizards 121-102, GS Warriors 99-98 and Milwaukee Bucks 101-116. Given the situation and context, Los Angeles is having the perfect start to the season too. No LeBron James for 6 weeks, for a while at the start of the season, Luka Doncic was also absent, leaving the team in charge to Austin Reaves whose status changed again this year. The Los Angeles Lakers, full of confidence after a success against the Toronto Raptors in the absence of Doncic 120-123, moved to the Boston Celtics 126-105 but impossible to hold back-to-back, with so many players absent.

Chicago Bulls

Golden State Warriors
Like a house of cards, the Taurus franchise is losing a lot of credit and confidence. 1st in the Eastern Conference after 10 days 5 wins - 0 losses, Chicago is perhaps the worst team in the league at the moment. Rest assured Chicago fans, it was planned on an a la carte basis. What was a little less so was this totally crazy start to the season. So the Bulls fell to 10th place 9 wins - 13 losses, beaten 6 times consecutively, notably during the last two meetings against the BK Nets 103-113 and Pacers 105-120. The Golden State Warriors are currently engaged in a multi-game road trip in the Eastern Conference. Deprived of Stephen Curry for several games, the Warriors have been heroic since their arrival in the right side of the USA. First in a match whose scenario will ultimately turn in favor of the 76ers in the Wells Fargo Center 99-98 before seeing the Warriors win last night in the Rocket Mortgage in Cleveland with a score of 94-99.

Memphis Grizzlies
2025-12-08
Portland Trailblazers
Still no Ja Morant at position 1 for the 9th Memphis Grizzlies whose performance without their superstar is still just as interesting. Without him, the 4 victories collected by the Bears in the last 5 games are a very good sign. The schedule, without lying to you, was ideal for relaunching with 3 successes to start against the red lantern, the Pelicans 128-133, success ahead of the Clippers 107-112 on the road, and the Kings 107-115. Small hitch for the Spurs, defeat 126-119 at the start of the week, but the Grizzlies will smile again after another success in front of the Clippers, but this time in the FedEx Forum 107-98. The Portland Trail Blazers 10th in the West, 9 wins - 14 losses will have a chance to play but should not master much in the second part of the season after Christmas. This will largely depend on the goodwill of franchises such as Memphis, Dallas, Sacramento, and the Clippers. 4 franchises expected in front of Portland, which should also fight for Play-in, then sink and restructure. The Blazers have so far lost a lot of ground, losing no less than 4 of their last 5 games in the NBA. Latest loss to date at the Detroit Pistons 122-116.

Denver Nuggets
We take the same ones and we start again for the Charlotte Hornets 12th, 7 wins - 16 losses this year in the NBA as the other would say. Collectively non-existent but so beautiful to see play individually, the lack of structure and consistency in the Hornets' game does not allow them to see higher once again this year. To return to the Charlotte Hornets week which will conclude this evening, it started badly in New York after two losses to the Nets 116-103 and the Knicks 119-104, but took an unexpected turn following a success in Toronto 86-111. The Denver Nuggets 2nd, 16 wins - 6 losses, without playing last night, took advantage of the Houston Rockets' 122-109 setback in Dallas to take 2nd place in the Western Conference standings. The 2nd best away team in the league in the NBA has once again struck in this register. Beaten initially by the Dallas Mavericks 121-131 in great form following the return of Davis, Denver initially flew to Indiana and Atlanta, beating their opponents respectively 120-135 and 133-134.

So what about some immediate games and the newest NBA sports betting odds? We have you covered. This weekend is full of great games, particularly on Sunday. The Suns are playing the Kings in a great Western Conference duel. Considering their current form and how well the team is playing together, the Suns’ odds of 1.46 make sense over the Kings’ 2.80. The over/under is 227.5 and should be a great over (1.77) to play as both teams have some heavy hitters on their rosters. Among Durant, Booker, and Beal on one side and Fox, DeRozan, and Sabonis on the other, it should be an easy win.
The struggling Bucks are playing the Celtics in what was supposed to be an Eastern Conference clash of contenders. However, it is not guaranteed due to the current form of the Milwaukee team. Still, Giannis and Lillard have a lot to prove and could actually come on top. Tatum is the lone star as his team is incomplete, hence the 1.80 odds for the Celtics and the 2.06 odds for the Bucks. This may be the game that turns it around for the Wisconsin team.
Who doesn’t like when the New York Knicks are good? It is simply great for the league and the sport! They are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Indiana Pacers as the trades proved successful. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges on one side, and Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner are more than enough to get you the 1.77 over on the 226.5 threshold. As for the winner, the Knicks should take it. The bookies predict it and give them 1.81 over the Pacers’ 2.05.
