NBA 2025 latest News and Predictions
Stay ahead of the game with our latest NBA blog! Get the inside scoop on the latest news, scores, and expert predictions.

Roughly a month into the newest edition of the NBA season and already there are plenty of storylines that fans need to know about. While it may have seemed like we got everything figured out before the start, many of the early predictions fell through as some rather unexpected developments took place. Injuries are already piling up, expected contenders are struggling, and there is an overall feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity because of these unexpected factors. One thing is certain: it is still rather exciting to see the best of the best go at it night in and night out.
Because of all this, it is not easy for someone deeply invested in the best that basketball has to offer. No longer can you watch a game and know full well who is taking it before it actually finishes. Anything can happen and a bunch of stuff is happening. So how can an average fan of the NBA, or more importantly, an online sports betting enthusiast, prepare for a full slate of games? Is it possible to do enough research and should you trust the odds the bookies make? To these and other questions, we give answers in the following guide. Read on if you love basketball for the newest news, speculations, and predictions.
Struggling Playoff Teams
Two of the bigger stories deal with teams that were expected to make early pushes for the top of the standings and eventually make a deep playoff run. These are mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Considering the names in their ranks and their past success, one of them more so than the other, they should be good for most of the season, right? Well, it seems like that will not be the case this season. It is already looking very bad for them and we have barely scratched the surface.Let us start with Philly. The City of Brotherly Love has been Trusting the Process for years now, but alas, it was to no avail. After numerous disappointments and experiments with stars past their prime, Joel Embiid somehow won an MVP and everyone’s spirits were high. Then, of course, his injuries continued as he was still unable to finish a season and take the team past the second round. Now, he has yet to play a single game this season. He was involved in two controversies already.
First, he said that if it were up to him, he would never play in back-to-back games until the end of his career. For this, the league launched an investigation into Philadelphia’s conducting of player absences. Then, the shoved a reporter in the locker room and got suspended for three games. And all of this after missing the first few games due to injury. It cannot get any worse, can it? Well, Tyrese Maxey is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury and Paul George is a bit rusty after missing the first several games of the season. All in all, the 76ers are one of the worst teams right now with a 1-7 record and dead last in the Eastern Conference. Betting against them would not be a bad idea going forward.
Right above them with an abysmal 2-7 record are the Milwaukee Bucks, who, compared to Philly, are not struggling with any drama or major injuries to their stars. Sure, Khris Middleton is absent still and is yet to appear this season, but they are used to it by now. Their struggles come from a few other places. First off, it does seem like Doc Rivers is the greatest fraud in NBA coaching in the last 20 years. Since he took over, everything has gone downhill. Losing Jrue Holiday and getting Damian Lillard proved like a mistake as the team is struggling mightily on the defensive end and the duo of Giannis Antetokiunpo and Lillard cannot carry the entire offense on their own. If one of them misses a game, it is a definite loss, and they do tend to miss a game from time to time.
The lack of help from the bench as well as the remainder of the starting five is simply not enough to compete in the East right now. Other teams are younger, faster, and more talented, while the Bucks are the oldest team in the league with an average age of 30.4 years. All you need to know about their roster struggles is the fact that they are playing a 36-year-old Brook Lopez for 30 minutes a game. There is no end in sight to their struggles and Giannis constantly appears in trade rumors. It would be one of the biggest shakeups in the history of the league if or when the Bucks make a move. This cannot go on for much longer as frustration is already at a peak.
Cavaliers are for Real
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers who have run out of the gate to start the season and kept on sprinting. Throw a hurdle at them and they will clear it by a mile. Nothing seems to be phasing them as they opened the new campaign with a 10-0 and it seems like there is no end in sight to their amazing stretch. This is the best start in franchise history, and we are talking about a team that is synonymous with LeBron James. At the moment, Stake gives them the odds of 19.00 to take the title, with 7 other teams in front. Capitalizing now would be an amazing wagering foresight and they could very well do it.
Donovan Mitchel and Darius Garland are leading the backcourt while the twin towers of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen are anchoring the post. Such a combination of size and speed, offense and defense, is not present in many other teams. Add a constant threat from beyond the arc from the likes of Max Strus, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill, and Isaac Okoro, and you have a well-rounded team poised for greatness. Betting on the Cavs is one of the surest things in basketball right now so be sure to ride the wave until it lasts. It is a good time once again to be an NBA fan in Cleveland.
Phoenix, Thunder, Celtics on a Roll
This assortment of contenders is doing their thing to open the season as all three teams are great right now. The Phoenix Suns are atop the Western Conference with an 8-1 record, same as the second-best Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Jusuf Nurkic are leading the way as the team is winning games, both close and lopsided, and finally playing well together. The chemistry of OKC is unmatched and it is just so good to watch the guys interact with each other and play so well together. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren are leading the way and their supporting cast is unlike anything else in the league. They could be ready for that final push come playoff time.In the East, right under the mighty Cavs is the defending champion, the Boston Celtics. With the odds to take another title and cement the dynasty being 3.60, they are still the bookies’ favorites. However, many teams are off to an amazing start and could ruin their best chance at a repeat in almost 4 decades. Jason Tatum is playing like an MVP, again, and several guys are coming into their own, especially Payton Pritchard. With Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis down with injuries, the Cs have not yet taken out their best starting five onto the court this season. It is a scary thought to have but there is no saying how good they will be when the gears start turning midway through the season.
Numerous Early MVP Candidates
After the first two weeks, the MVP battle looked nothing like we expected it to. Some names appeared there that no sane person would think of. For example, two Clippers players are incredible right now, but none of them are named James Harden or Kawhi Leonard. It is Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac who have been carrying the load and are the main contributors to the positive 5-4 record of a team who were supposed to be where the Bucks and Philly are right now. Zubac is averaging 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds while Powell is playing out of his mind with 25.7 points per game. The Sacramento Kings hoped for a better start than their current 5-4 record, but there is a lot to be optimistic about right now. They have three players averaging more than 20 points per game. De’Aron Fox is leading the way with 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. DeMar DeRozan is currently at 24.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.6 points, 13 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and has already had several triple-doubles.
that's a wrap from the desert, catch y'all tm for another one 🫡

Defensive Player of the Game presented by @phoonglawcorp pic.twitter.com/JfANZzwY8h
Speaking of the Lithuanian superstar, he has had one of the best games in history, a perfect game as many called it. In their November 6 win over the Toronto Raptors, he did something nobody else has. Pay attention. He had a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He added 1 steal to it. But the great thing about it is that he shot 100% from the floor, 6/6, 100% from the free throw, 5/5, and did not have a single foul or turnover! Such a game is unheard of and it is a testament to how the new, non-American players (Jokic, Sabonis, Giannis, Luka, Shai) are changing the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 7th spot with a 5-4 record after opening the season in big fashion. With big stories surrounding them, none bigger than Bronny James and the new coaching staff led by JJ Reddick, they are handling the business well enough. LeBron James says he plans to play all 82 games this season, something he has only done once in his 22-year-long career. That is promising as the team needs all he can give them, and he is delivering amazingly well for a soon-to-be 40-year-old.
However, it is Anthony Davis who is leading the way and making an early push for the MVP. The 31-year-old is currently averaging 32.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2 blocks per game on 57% shooting. These are MVP numbers and should he be able to play enough games, it could be his year. He is also delivering on the defensive end so it could be a battle between him and Victor Wembanyama for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Upcoming Games and Odds
Orlando Magic
2025-12-04
San Antonio Spurs
Fifth in the Eastern Conference 13 wins - 8 losses, Orlando is slowly getting back on track after an average start to the season. Eliminated twice in the first round in the 2024 and 2025 Play-offs, Orlando, by getting its hands on D.Bane this summer, changed dimension this year in an Eastern conference where some favorites are struggling. 6 successes in the last 7 games for a Magic too strong for the leader Detroit 109-112 last weekend, or even for the Bulls 125-120 48 hours ago. The San Antonio Spurs, 4th in the West, beat the dangerous Memphis Grizzlies for 3 consecutive victories in the NBA last night, recording a 6th victory in 8 games since Wemby's injury. This start to the season is taking very good shape. In the West, the fact is that expected teams like Dallas, the Clippers, the Kings or even the Grizzlies all in the negative allow San Antonio to find its way, a place in the top 9, in order to cling to its dream of Play-offs. Because yes, let's remember, but "Wemby" has still not played a single match in the post-season.

Indiana Pacers

Denver Nuggets
Winner of the title in the East, Indiana occupies 14th place in the conference at the beginning of December. As we have told you time and again, throwing stones at them is very easy but completely unfair. The starting 5 is cut by numerous defections, notably the departure of Turner for the Bucks and the absence of T. Haliburton for the season. Too bad for Indiana. Winner for the first time of the season with two consecutive successes in the NBA in front of the Wizards 119-86 and the Bulls 103-101, a success against Cleveland in back-to-back was possible, but it was too much for the Pacers, beaten 119-135. Playing the leading roles for the Denver Nuggets is obvious insofar as very objectively the best player in the world has occupied position 5 for several years in Colorado. Denver favorite? Yes among, because competition in the West means that Denver must get moving. Indeed, this 4th place at the moment promises them a direct confrontation with the OKC Thunder in the 2025-26 Western Conference semi-final. To avoid such a catastrophic scenario facing the current ogre of the NBA, Denver must win very often, unlike this heavy poor performance that occurred at home in front of the Mavericks of Davis and Flagg 121-131 last time.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Portland Trail Blazers
For the Cleveland Cavaliers it is currently a delicate season to negotiate. Leader last year in the Eastern Conference standings by a large margin, but beaten in the conference semi-finals 4-1 by the Pacers, the start of the 2025-26 regular season is currently missed 6th, 13 wins - 9 losses. That said, Cleveland missed the mark so much in the Play-offs and succeeded in the regular season that the leaders are just looking forward to the month of April. The Cavaliers in doubt 3 consecutive losses put an end to this ugly series by beating the Indiana Pacers on the road at the start of the week 119-135. Bonus season, nothing more? This is a bit of the watchword for the Portland Trail Blazers this year whose objectives without Damian Lillard OUT for the season remain far too modest. That said, the departure of A. Simons has freed up space, and allows D. Avdija 26 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists in the continuity of his successful Euro Basket 2025 with Israel to gain depth in this squad. Portland after two losses in front of the Spurs 102-115 and OKC 115-123 at home traveled to a struggling Toronto 2 defeats in a row last night, following up a 3rd consecutive loss 121-118.

Charlotte Hornets
New York 2nd, although Detroit 1st still has a small lead in the Eastern Conference standings, is the big favorite to win the title in the East. Indeed, with approximately 60 games still to be played this year in the NBA, New York displays high ambition thanks to an incredible team on paper. They are slowly starting to coordinate in this regard, victorious in their last 4 games in the NBA Nets, Hornets, Bucks, Raptors before this lost duel at the Celtics last night 123-117. How can we not throw stones at them? How can we not openly criticize this Charlotte Hornets team which missed a huge opportunity to revive itself at the start of the week. Indeed, in a complicated season at the moment, the North Carolina team, motivated by a typical team recently aligned, initially beat the Bulls 123-116 and big surprise the Toronto Raptors 118-111. That said, while all the lights were green, Charlotte fell to Brooklyn 116-103 48 hours ago.

Atlanta Hawks

LA Clippers
The Atlanta Hawks 7th in the Eastern Conference, 13 wins - 9 losses begin a delicate part of the season during which several franchises are neck and neck in the standings. Assuming the status of an uninhibited, liberated franchise, determined to steal a spot for the Play-offs, is never easy for a team deprived of its leader for a month now. But to the extent that several favorites are not present Milwaukee, Boston, Philly, Indiana, there is room. Recently after two successes against the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-123, and against the 76ers 136-142 ap, Atlanta surrendered in a close match to Detroit, the leader of the conference 99-98. The last 2 defeats at home before taking off for a road trip of several matches in the East, had already had very serious consequences already in the ranking since Los Angeles had slipped to 14th place before last. After these two losses to the Memphis Grizzlies 107-112 and the Dallas Mavericks 110-114. Los Angeles, well intentioned with its entire team, showed up in Florida at the start of the week to challenge the Miami Heat of a certain N.Powell, ex-Clippers player. Faced with the latter and the armada of coach Spoelstra, LAC ate a nice 140-123. For the little anecdote, during this meeting, while the score was 45-46 for the Californians, they lost a 19-0 64-46 at the end of the 2nd quarter. Terrible for confidence.

Houston Rockets

Sacramento Kings
Among the Houston Rockets 3rd, 13 wins - 5 losses, the start of the season meets the expectations of the leaders. Second in the Western Conference last year but beaten in the first round by the Warriors 4-3, Houston intends this year to make it through this first round to the Play-offs and even dream of the title under the leadership of Kevin Durant, his new jewel. Opposed to the Jazz during the last 2 matches, the Rockets, after a success in the 1st round 101-129, lost the revenge a few hours later 133-125. 8 victories in the last 10 games for the Rockets. For the Sacramento Kings 13th, 5 victories - 16 defeats, the season is embarrassing at the moment. Last year when we lost D.Fox everyone more or less knew that the Kings had been screwed. But here, the confirmation is total and as we have repeated several times here, why try the DeRozan-LaVine association which for 3 years sank the Bulls? In short... the Sacramento Kings have lost their last 2 games against franchises in the second half of the table, namely the Jazz 128-119 and the Grizzlies 107-115.

Milwaukee Bucks
2025-12-04
Detroit Pistons
Let's start with a nice little statistic to highlight the deficiencies that the Milwaukee Bucks are currently facing. 8 defeats in 9 games for Doc Rivers' men with a prolonged absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the middle which will have done a lot of harm. Traveling to the Washington Wizards after a success against the Brooklyn Nets, logically, the 2021 NBA champion had to react, but that was without counting on a new misstep banned in the American capital 129-126. Milwaukee is in crisis! Let's put ourselves in the place of the Detroit Pistons whose objective on paper was to aim for between 4th and 8th place in the Eastern Conference. So obviously this 1st place is a blessing, but do they have the ability to keep it? The future will tell us for sure. For now, Detroit is looking after its record 17 wins - 4 losses, winning its last two games ahead of the Miami Heat 135-138 and the Hawks 99-98 narrowly.

Chicago Bulls
2025-12-04
Brooklyn Nets
This is the most complete collapse for the Chicago Bulls. Like a house of cards, the Taurus franchise is losing a lot of credit and trust. 1st in the Eastern Conference after 10 days 5 wins - 0 losses, Chicago is today in 10th place in the Eastern Conference 9 wins - 11 losses. Overall, nothing to sound the alarm in a franchise in reconstruction, not ready for a single second to play in the Play-offs and beaten 5 times in the last 6 games. Like this setback against Orlando 125-120 48 hours earlier. It's a surprise to no one, Brooklyn is one of the weakest franchises in the entire Eastern Conference and the NBA in general on paper. If on top of that your best player Cam Thomas has been absent for a few weeks, you get a franchise on the decline which nevertheless carried out a very good operation at home by winning a match 116-103 in front of the Charlotte Hornets in form after two consecutive successes in Chicago and Toronto. Note that this success was the first of the season in the Barclays Center... record 1 victory - 9 defeats.

Dallas Mavericks

Miami Heat
We are finally starting to talk about the Dallas Mavericks for their good results and not for all the extra-sporting problems. Indeed, after seeing his young prodigy Cooper Flagg 35 points carry his team in style thanks to his best match in front of the Los Angeles Clippers last Saturday in California 110-114, it was Anthony Davis 32 points - 13 rebounds who showed the tip of his nose in front of the Denver Nuggets 121-131 during this very important victory in the standings which allows the Mavericks to reposition themselves. It is a Miami Heat in full confidence 7 successes during the Last 8 matches which travel to Texan soil today. Miami is determined to do things diligently, 3rd in the Eastern Conference with a record of 14 wins - 7 losses. The Miami Heat after a setback in Florida last weekend for the reception of the Pistons 135-138, had to react to the Los Angeles Clippers in full crisis. The match was close for 20-21 minutes, before seeing Miami finish the 2nd quarter with a definitive 19-0. Victory 140-123.

So what about some immediate games and the newest NBA sports betting odds? We have you covered. This weekend is full of great games, particularly on Sunday. The Suns are playing the Kings in a great Western Conference duel. Considering their current form and how well the team is playing together, the Suns’ odds of 1.46 make sense over the Kings’ 2.80. The over/under is 227.5 and should be a great over (1.77) to play as both teams have some heavy hitters on their rosters. Among Durant, Booker, and Beal on one side and Fox, DeRozan, and Sabonis on the other, it should be an easy win.
The struggling Bucks are playing the Celtics in what was supposed to be an Eastern Conference clash of contenders. However, it is not guaranteed due to the current form of the Milwaukee team. Still, Giannis and Lillard have a lot to prove and could actually come on top. Tatum is the lone star as his team is incomplete, hence the 1.80 odds for the Celtics and the 2.06 odds for the Bucks. This may be the game that turns it around for the Wisconsin team.
Who doesn’t like when the New York Knicks are good? It is simply great for the league and the sport! They are the favorites in their upcoming clash with the Indiana Pacers as the trades proved successful. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges on one side, and Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, and Myles Turner are more than enough to get you the 1.77 over on the 226.5 threshold. As for the winner, the Knicks should take it. The bookies predict it and give them 1.81 over the Pacers’ 2.05.
