Way Too Early NFL 2024 Season Predictions

With the offseason in full swing, predicting the early 2024 NFL season is a guessing game. However, rookie quarterbacks like Caleb Williams could shake things up, while established teams like the Chiefs and Bills remain contenders. Keep an eye on surprising teams like the Texans with their new weapons, and watch how coaching changes impact teams like the Bears.

2024 nfl

The 2024 NFL Draft is officially in the record books, which means that the next big date on the calendar is the official schedule release sometime mid-month.

As teams already know who they will be facing this season, the much anticipated day will confirm exactly when and where the games will take place. Based on their schedules last season, the Cleveland Browns enter the 2024 season with the hardest schedule, while the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints are predicted to have the easiest slate.

With new faces in new places due to trades, free agency, and the draft, along with new coaching hires, the 2024 NFL season is expected to be the usual mixed bag of surprises and familiarities that fans have come to know and love. As one of the most popular sports in the world, whether you are a fan of a team or of a player, the NFL is wagered on by nearly 80% of American bettors through fantasy leagues, money lines or the ever popular prop bets. Here are just some of the stories and predictions to look for during the upcoming NFL season.

Russell Wilson Returns To The Postseason

nfl

The last time the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback appeared in a playoff game was in 2020 when the Seattle Seahawks were handed a 30-20 loss by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Game. After being traded to the Denver Broncos, a place where Russell failed to lead the team to a .500 record, he would once again find himself on the move following a controversial end to the 2023 season. After being released by the Broncos, Wilson signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While many believe that newly acquired Justin Fields, who is ten years younger than Wilson will likely finish the season as QB1, Wilson has something to prove in what could be the final stop of his illustrious career.

Rookie Of The Year

caleb williams

The last time a Chicago Bear won Rookie of the Year was when running back Anthony Thomas brought the award to the Windy City in 2001. As the number one overall pick, Caleb Williams will be given the ball right away with the goal of leading the Bears back to the playoffs, a place they haven’t been in three seasons. While there will be the obvious learning curves transitioning from college ball to the NFL, Chicago’s front office has provided Williams with a number of established targets such as Keenan Allen and DJ Moore as well as fellow rookie Rome Odunze. In charge of Williams’ playbook is offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, the same man who helped Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith win the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year and also guided Russell Wilson to his last Pro Bowl appearance.

First Time Appearance

While they may have won four NFL Championships (1935, 1952, 1953, 1957), the Detroit Lions have never actually appeared in a Super Bowl game. Claiming their titles before the merger of the NFL and the AFL, the Lions have not reached a title game of any sort since 1957. After reaching the NFC Conference Championship last season, the team’s first playoff appearance in seven years, the Lions have all the pieces in place to finally break the Super Bowl drought. With head coach Dan Campbell back on the sidelines and Jared Goff posting the second-best season of his career, the Lions, who tightened up their defensive corps through free agency and the draft could find themselves battling for the elusive championship ring.

Super Bowl LIX Champions

There have been a handful of back-to-back Super Bowl champions, but there has never been a three-peat champion, until now. After capturing their third Vince Lombardi trophy (not including their 1969 AFL/NFL Championship), the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to etch their name in the NFL history books. Although the San Francisco 49ers are currently topping most of the sportsbook lists as the odds-on favorites, the Chiefs, who rank second, somehow managed to make their team even better with the addition of rookies wide receiver Xavier Worthy and tackle Kingsley Suamataia as well as signing free agent Marquise Brown.

Whether you are following a team or an individual player this season, one sure fire way to keep on top of all the NFL action is by using sports betting apps for key insights into every game. While we are still two and a half months away from the opening of training camp, three months away from the Hall-of-Fame preseason game, and four months until the 2024 season officially kicks off, it gives fans a chance to predict what could happen leading up to the final game at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
