Can Nottingham Forest Upset Liverpool? Latest news and predictions

Liverpool head to Nottingham Forest seeking a third successive victory and they are the heavy favourites to leave the City Ground with maximum points.

Nottingham Forest faces Liverpool

Nottingham Forest faces Liverpool at the City Ground in a match from the 27th round of the English Premier League. We advise you to remain with us and these best soccer predictions today. Now let’s see what we can tell you about it!

Nottingham Forest are still struggling to keep themselves in the league. They are 17th in the division with 24 points but this puts them just four points ahead of the 18th Luton Town. As you can see - the relegation zone is pretty close so Forest must step up and try their best.

Three losses in the last five matches and just one win - Nottingham Forest’s current form is far from perfect. Last weekend Nuno Santo’s team faced Aston Villa away from home and scored twice, but also conceded four times - 2-4. Moussa Niakhate and Morgan Gibbs-White scored for Forest at the Villa Park while Origi and Awoniyi provided the assists.

Most probably Nuno Santo will stick to his 4-2-3-1 tactical formation, but some changes in the line-up could be made. Divock Origi could be in the line-up to face his former club while Gio Reyna could be starting as well. Andrew Omobamidele is in contention to find himself in the line-up, too.

Liverpool are locked in a vicious race for the title. The Reds are leading the Premier League standings but Manchester City and Arsenal are breathing in their necks. It means that Liverpool must try to win as much games as possible if they want to enjoy the title.

In terms of current form, Liverpool are moving well in the league - four wins in the last five games. In the previous round Jurgen Klopp’s boys faced Luton Town at the Anfield and got an easy win - 4-1. Luton actually scored first, but the Reds didn’t face any problems to secure the three points. Virgil van Dijk equalised while Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott finished the job. Meanwhile Alexis Mac Allister was one of the heroes of the game - the Argentine international assisted for two of the goals.

For Liverpool this match comes after the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea which they won. Even without Mohamed Salah, Liverpool showed their spirit and secured the trophy at the Wembley. Virgil van Dijk scored the winning goal in the last minutes of the extra time.

Mohamed Salah could return in the squad for the match against Nottingham Forest. The Egyptian star missed the last two games, but now he’s feeling better. At the same time Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez could be ready to play as well.

What’s more important is that Liverpool proved something - they can win even without Salah in the team. The Egyptian star is arguably the team’s most impressive player, but Klopp’s boys are showing their true qualities even in difficult situations. This could lead them to the title!

Liverpool’s star goalkeeper Alisson Becker is still sidelined with an injury while the same could be said about Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip. Jurgen Klopp has some problems but he still have a squad that is good enough to deal with these players’ absence.

If Mo Salah doesn’t play against Nottingham, Liverpool will be without their top scorer this season. Salah has 15 Premier League goals this season which puts him ahead of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez.

In our best soccer predictions today we presented you our preview for the match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool at the City Ground. Obviously Forest are the underdogs here but maybe they can cause an upset? We still believe that it’s Liverpool’s match to lose, though - they are in the title race so they will play for the win.
