Football Clubs With the Most Revenue

Soccer has a leading place in the world of sports. People from all over the world can watch the meetings of their favorites and make their own predictions about the score that the meeting will end with.

Today soccer prediction is quite popular, as many people try to make money with it by betting on sports.

The players themselves have a big income from this activity. The budget of some clubs reaches half a billion dollars. These figures are monitored by various well-known magazines and companies, which publish them for public review.

The top 10 richest and most in-demand football clubs are:
  1. Arsenal
  2. Tottenham Hotspur
  3. Chelsea
  4. Barcelona
  5. Bayern Munich
  6. Paris Saint-Germain
  7. Manchester United
  8. Liverpool
  9. Real Madrid
  10. Manchester City

They have been considered the most prestigious clubs for many years. They are followed and admired by millions of viewers around the world. Let's look at their main strengths in more detail.

Arsenal

This is one of the most in-demand clubs. Its income exceeded 400 million euros for the first time in 2017. Accordingly, the expenses of the club associated with its players increased as well.

It was also reported that Arsenal's pre-tax profits increased by £ 2.9 million compared to the previous season and reached £44.6 million. In subsequent years, its income was lower.

Tottenham Hotspur

According to the documents and the supporting information, the revenue of this club decreased from 460.7 (2019) to 402.4 (2020) million pounds. At the same time, the club was able to show an increase in income received from soccer matches from 312.8 (2019) to 358.1 (2020) million pounds. The club attributes this to the fact that it was able to raise match income at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to £71 million (compared to £24.9 million in 2019).

Profits from the club's operations, which do not include the sale of broadcasting rights for matches, and other minor items, decreased by 57.4 million pounds, amounting to 115.3 million in British currency.

Chelsea

As of 2022, the club has earned 300 million euros. And compared to the figures 10 years ago, their income has doubled. This club is distinguished by its success in the field of player sales. They produce strong athletes. Also, they are trying to attract a large number of fans by increasing the number of sponsorship contracts. Some games have brought them a big income, thanks to the sponsors who have organized high-level matches.

Barcelona

This Spanish club is experiencing financial difficulties, although things with club money are not as bad as they may seem. The pride of Catalonia continues to make big profits in the commercial sphere, where its income has reached more than 300 million dollars. Nike, an American company that has pledged to pay 120 million euros a year as a T-shirt manufacturer, also contributes a large portion of the budget. With a stadium like Camp Nou, the Catalans can count on heavy cash inflows on match days. Last season brought them more than $100 million from that source. A new deal with Spotify will be appearing on FC Barcelona's training kits and on behalf of the stadium will give the club an additional $307 million, so it is possible that Barça's position in future rankings could change.

Bayern Munich

This German club is the most manageable team in the world of soccer if you take into account only the financial side. It is one of a few clubs without debt, which makes its daily operations much easier in terms of management. The club's transfer policy deserves a big credit. The Bavarians don't spend inflated sums on players. As a result, their finances do not require remedies. Bayern Munich's main sponsor, Telekom, pays 45 million euros a year, and that amount will be increased this summer due to new contract negotiations. Another small brick to the budget is added by Allianz, which in exchange for the rights to the name of the stadium transfers to Bayern's account about 6 million euros annually.

Paris Saint-Germain

After the club came under Qatari management, its revenues have increased significantly. And it ranks among the top 10 European clubs. On match days, the amount of income rose from 24 million to 115 million euros. If you consider all the revenue from sponsors, affiliate programs, and other merchandising, the amount reaches 366 million euros.

Manchester United

After a rather challenging pandemic period, when the club lost more than 120 million euros, their finances are gradually coming back to normal. As is the case with most clubs, this is mainly influenced by revenues from commercial activities and sports contracts. First of all, it is worth mentioning 75 million euros that Adidas pays the club annually, and 47 million euros from the main sponsor on the T-shirts, i.e. TeamViewer, flows into the club's budget. It is estimated that the Red Devils earned more than 400 million euros that season just for commercial activities and broadcasting rights.

Liverpool

The official website of the club provides information that from 2020 to 2021 the income was 487 million pounds. At the same time, losses amounted to 5 million pounds.

To date, the transfer balance is -56 million euros.

Real Madrid

This Spanish team owes its excellent financial situation mainly to its president - Florentino Perez. Despite the lack of victories in the Champions League in recent years, which could provide a huge cash infusion, the finances of the club from the Spanish capital are still at a high level. This can be explained by the profit from TV rights of more than 200 million euros. Moreover, Real Madrid is the most recognizable club in the world, which has a big impact on the biggest commercial revenues of all clubs. The thirteen winners of last year's Champions League earned more than 380 million euros.

Manchester City

Undoubtedly, Manchester City is the richest soccer club in the world, which is recognized by many soccer fans and financial experts. The club is managed by a holding company from the United Arab Emirates. It did not feel the effects of the pandemic as much as other clubs. The damage from the loss of income from matches is more than compensated by the amounts the Citizens receive from sponsors. The contract with the main sponsor, i.e. Etihad Airways, is $67.5 million a year.
